FWIW these are the 2 things of the ones I listed that are most significant for me. I'm actually still playing DAOC but these reasons are why I will jump ship when GW 2 or SWTOR comes out and probably never come back.
- People/guilds you used to play with quit so now you have to pug or solo.
- You're sick of the endless campaign / re-itemization grind and the resulting need to constantly redo your templates.

If the people I group with knew how bad my gear was, they wouldn't group me anymore. I've hated NF ever since it came out, and prefer to not even play out there. What level 50 RvR I do now is in the lab with the other bads/lazys/trash. My desire to be the best, collect fat rps and be leet left soon after OF went away. My 8v8 days are over and good riddance to them. I just want to blow shit up, and am perfectly content to zerg/add/leech for that.
About the only people I miss from my 8v8 days are my original group from Tristan, and a couple of others. I actually PVE'd with much cooler people then I ever RvR'd with.

Here's what I think are the major reasons:
- The game is 9 years old and you just need a change of pace.
- People/guilds you used to play with quit so now you have to pug or solo.
- Things have changed in your real life so you can no longer play as much, spend the time needed to keep your template up-to-date, afford a buff bot, etc.
- You used to play on a smaller server/cluster and find Ywain too zergy and the quality of soloing, small manning, and 8v8ing much less good.
- You are pissed off at all the numerous problems that Mythic never bothers to fix (Halloween moon, WS/con poison, warping pets, the Camelot Herald, the lag and ghosting, etc.), the seemingly random changes they make to screw players over (BG spellcrafting), or the things they promised to do but haven't (remove -Ywain#).
- You're sick of the endless campaign / re-itemization grind and the resulting need to constantly redo your templates.
As usually I agree 100%.

I agree with this. I've found fun in other aspects of the game as time has gone by. Back in the OF days, I was an 8v8er on Tristan. I hated zergs and people who zerged, called em no talent trash (I save that for Warlocks these days) etc etc. Over time, I've gotten to the point where I don't care about my RPs anymore, don't care about being the best, don't care about being respected, I certainly don't want to put in WORK for any of those things...I just wanna come home after a long day at work and blow shit up. I'm perfectly content with being a trashy zerger.
I've also found new people to play with. For a long time, I avoided finding new people because it always hurt a little when they left. As someone who's been around since beta, I've lost more then my fair share of friends in this game. But it always seems I make a few new friends too, regardless of whether I am PVEing, playing in the BGs, zerg surfing, pugging, whatever. And while I don't have the same old memories with these new guys, they are every bit as good to hang out with as the old ones were, and in many cases better.
Furthermore, I've realized that back in my 8v8 days, I was part of the problem. I needed those baddies that I looked down on back then. They kept my server alive, and gave me a source of RPs. My elitism, 8 man groups that could roll the causal guy who worked a hard day then came home to play a few hours to relax, helped drive them out of the game.
That casual guy has a right to have fun playing too, and it was impossible given what the elite tend to do to those who aren't. There's a sense that if you can, you should...and this imo has helped to kill the game. Hindsight is 20/20 *shrug*.
I agree. Now I am married and do shift work. I just wanna kill stuff after my crappy day.

Probably life, thing change. For me it is more boredom than anything, I don't have my ex harping on me about wasting time on a video game anymore but I played the damn thing for 9 years, still get occasional urges to play so I get my fix the free route, even if it's not nearly as good as the real thing.

It's the gross imbalances and the way they ignore problems for years. After a while you just get tired of it and log for good.
The shield overpoweredness has just been lingering for far too much time. /peace
After going to play an Ultima Online free shard for a little while I've come to appreciate the beauty of that game and the complete balance they have achieved.

The endless amount of junk they keep adding is keeping me from re-subbing. I haven't played for about 4 years now but I still check these boards at least weekly to see if a new server is coming out (as much as most players would hate that).

Worthless csr's that ignore players that violate tos, csr's that are slow or never respond, bots which force a person to buy two accounts or more, unless you want to play bum. Lack of content, face it you pay a monthly fee there should be new stuff much more often.
Edit: As someone said they tend to break some characters, an example would be Sbs in the past after the la nerf, they were left gimp for yrs, now they are good but back after the nerf it was stupid, that should never happen in a game. Even though some hate the thought of games with classes that are the same on the other side it is easier to balance.

I have to agree with the bot part. I used to always play with a bot when I had two machines but these days I can only afford to have one computer and it gets dangerously hot when running 2 accounts. This leaves me stuck with either just a few class options or playing with lower buffs than most people.
