i find my self mostly saying
"what the #*%^, 4 FG defending in 5 minutes is realistic.... ok..... realm timers please.
hands down, i would sell my soul for realm timers.
do what ever you want in PVE, jump back and forth, back and forth, realm between realm.
but once that toon hits NF, or ANY RvR zone, bam, you have commited to that realm for the next hour AFTER you log or zone PVE side.
that would curb the outlandish numbers that log and jump after hearing whispers in the dark.
better yet realm pride, 1 realm per server.

Here's what I think are the major reasons:
- The game is 9 years old and you just need a change of pace.
- People/guilds you used to play with quit so now you have to pug or solo.
- Things have changed in your real life so you can no longer play as much, spend the time needed to keep your template up-to-date, afford a buff bot, etc.
- You used to play on a smaller server/cluster and find Ywain too zergy and the quality of soloing, small manning, and 8v8ing much less good.
- You are pissed off at all the numerous problems that Mythic never bothers to fix (Halloween moon, WS/con poison, warping pets, the Camelot Herald, the lag and ghosting, etc.), the seemingly random changes they make to screw players over (BG spellcrafting), or the things they promised to do but haven't (remove -Ywain#).
- You're sick of the endless campaign / re-itemization grind and the resulting need to constantly redo your templates.

Lots of good posts
To KaosodinAll-Father I would say that while I agree, todays technology makes it irrelevant.
Even if people couldn't realm-swap, they would tell their friends via FB, Twitter, eMail, phone, TS, Vent, & although they themselves wouldn't be able to profit, their friends would, and next time they'd be one of the ones profiting.
Personally I have quit several times due to being unable to reach RR5 in a reasonable time if at all.
I have 24 L50 Hibs, 12 L50 Mids, & 2 L50 Albs, & only 1 ever reached RR5 & that was pre-ToA when the average RR was about RR2.
Now the average RR is probably 8-10 & IMHO it's nigh-on impossible to get to RR5 for an average player like me.
1 even maxed out of Leirvik but still couldn't get to RR5.
It's just so discouraging.
OK you can say noob L2P or just quit (I have been playing since beta), but DAoC needs to attract players not lose them.
People get to L50, ML10, CL10, RR2-4 & then just can't get to RR5 & quit.
Getting to RR5 in a reasonable amount of time needs to be made easier IMO to make new characters more able to compete & therefore more willing to stay & try to get further thus continuing to provide cannon-fodder for the higher RRs.
Eventually they may even be able to put up a good fight, but not if they get discouraged & quit.
Oh, & giving kills more RPs isn't the solution, cos if you hardly ever get any kills you still won't be getting RPs wether the kill is worth 1RP or 10'000 RPs.
Just my PoV.

Perfectly said. I just returned 2 weeks ago and these are my thoughts exactly. Already looking elsewhere.
No matter how many times you return...you always end up having that "it will never feel the way it used to" feeling.
