The prices of items that require a raid are exorbitant, and will continue to increase as supply dwindles.

Supply increases, but the speed at which you can roll alts greatly outpaces the speed at which loot is generated, and the problem is compounded now that the farmers are banned. Too many players keep rolling alts and are convinced they need the items even though they rarely rvr/pvp with them.

I cannot organise/run and complete an ML10 raid in my 3 hours of gametime or w/e I get

why cant you?

i can.. i can get a group, and go do ml10 in less then 3 hours no problem...

i used to do it all the time.

infact, if your just doing it yourself, small scale.. there is realy no organizing to do, no planning... you just get the required classes together, then go do it.

2 druids, 2 animists, 1 hero, 1 warden, and 2 enchanters then go kill them all.. poof loot for everyone.

I have played this game purely solo pretty much through my entire 4 years of playing with no large scale grouping for PVE etc cause I've never had to.

I do not have a large guild or /as and I don't know enough people that I could just say "hey wanna do an ml10 raid?"

Therefore this is not something I can just step into with "no planning"

I'm also on EU timezone, the only "friends" I have in game are mainly US therefore organising a mutual time for us would be inconvenient for the most part.

Even when the Dragon loot was in, the SI loot got boosted and even now the SH items... I could always afford them through plat I had made via RVR or Crafting

ML10 is the one encounter where the weapons etc are so limited on housing that the prices ridiculous

Even if I stuck at my old methods of crafting for plat etc, I would have to put myself out of RvR for days on end while crafting in order to get 1 weapon.

I'm here for RvR and not PVE

I know people's answer is gonna be "tough thats your own fault, go PVE" - well how about we introduce some weapons obtainable only via RvR? RR requirements or BPs to purchase etc that cannot be traded

Problem solved

Corfel I understand where you are coming from, but I honestly don't think having a merchant for every item in the game is the answer. DAOC is turning more and more into a i50 freeshard. There has to be something to work for, some element of pve.

I do agree that prices are ridiculous, but you can easily get in an ml10 raid if you want to, no organizing just join and go. They don't often happen on hib, but I have GFM casters on all 3 realms. When I want to do ml10 I just type /who celestius, send someone a tell, and I haven't been told no yet. There is always someone in there doing it.

3 Hours is a long time to spend in pve I agree, but if you can find the time to do it you are basically guaranteed an item that sells for at least 30p (most of the time 2 of these) and if you roll well you can get a really nice item.

I just feel like there still needs to be some element of pve involved if you want the very best items, otherwise what's the point of playing here and not a freeshard?

Granted there should still be reason for people to PVE but even with the scale system people still farm Dragons etc.

So why not add new RvR weapons like I suggested?

RR requirements and so on in order to use them? I think that'd be pretty nice - Plus it'd be a bit more rewarding as a high RR character to have an item you know low RR scrubs won't have.

Something you've had to earn over a long time, that would be more rewarding than getting a lucky /roll on a raid imo~

PVE'rs spend 3 hours grinding a mob - PVP'ers spend 3 weeks, 3 months, 3 years grinding for items...

Good idea imo~

the RVR items being limited to RR would actually be more of an incentive for people to stay on 1 toon and not hop realms~

Yea I like that idea, to me it's what the champ weapon was supposed to be in many ways.

Maybe an item you get at rr5, and then it scales up in power or ability as you increase RR. I like it

edit : I'm a casual player, it's why I play a Nightshade solo - so that I can come/go as I please without worrying about others waiting on me etc.

So I shouldn't play this game cause I can't make the time to raid ?

That's basically your logic

if u want to live as a casual than also die like a casual.

if you invest more time in something you are likly to get better results... (hey its like in RL! woot)

you should not stop playing because you cant make time for a raid. you should stop playing if your want to be top of the foodchain without doing something for it...

if it would be easy to obtain these items you could take them away alltogether... make erverything free... put up a npc that wil craft u gear to your specifics. and just give every char a power/end/hp potion button... since everybody has them wants them needs them...

i like these items to be special.. it makes my char special.

i agree with you though that this game ist too long around for being dependable on pve... but when you look at how much time you had to invest for ml10 back in the days... 3 hours or even 15 seems laughable...

heck.. it took me 13 month to lvl my scout to 50 since i had to do it solo...

i could come around for something like ml10 gear for 15k bp a pop

Remember when these weapons first came out for 200, 300p a piece?

Everyone had one...

I didn't

I refused to buy them and I continued to rip kids in Dragonslayer Gear, Champ Weapon etc

I could still do that today

I don't NEED these weapons in order to compete, I can hang with the best of em in mediocre gear.

The point is it's just nice to have and there's no reward for us players who want to just RvR in getting these items.

Look at other games like rift/wow etc... Shit games but they appeal to both PVE and PVP players because whichever route you take you can both get the same gear via PvP or PvE...

Why can't we have something similar here?

A few things that I think will help keep current players and attract newcomers.

Make housing rent free.

Put in a postal system (mailbox.

RvR Rez Sickness needs to be removed completely

Movement speed in and out of combat needs to be the same. (I'm not talking about forms of CC)

Movement speed in RvR and PvE zones need to be at same percent. (I'm not talking about making speed in PvE zones slower)
