I only want to RvR. No interest in pve.


They should let you get get competitive gear through RvR.

The only ppl defending the "PVE for the uber items" are the ones controlling the market, buying plat or just don't RVR often

You can easily get about 10k-20k bp a weekend...

but there is a problem... you have to go raid towers and keeps...

but that is only for zerglings not l33t 1vs1 or 8 mans... so again... the l33t people start crying...

I mostly play on the weekends... I even get up at night to join the Battlegroups in RvR...

And... if I want something, I farm it, or buy it.


I too think, that you have to work for what you want to have.
He/She who wants good stuff, needs to work for it...

And no Thaki... sugar blown up your backside isn't working for something... get real...

DAoC isn't RvR alone...

Not controlling any market, and doing, regarded from my playtime, lots of RvR...

But I don't care taking part an evening at an ML10 raid... or go farm afrits...

I mostly sell alchemist potions =)

So that "only ppl that defend pve are the ones controlling the market" is complete rubbish...

When I want something, I use the market explorer...
If it's too expensive for my liking, I go try farming it...
If I have no luck one evening, I go a second time... or a third... or more...
While doing that I get loot to sell or salvage => plats...

So in one or the other way I get the desired item, by farming or by shopping it...

All they need to do is up the BPs for solo kills and BPs would be a perfectly fine currency

Just make them non-tradeable weapons~

Solo/Small man/Zerg would do just fine for BPs and it still leaves the option for peopel to PvE for them but it would drive the housing prices down~

Or introduce the scaling RvR weapons I mentioned that can only be obtained through RR requirments...

It's hard enough for new players to stand against the longtime players with rr8+

I've been standing toe to toe on a rr2 infiltrator using those easy to farm pictish weapons and a template that cost me less than 30p (to prove a point) against R10/11/12 players and I've come out on top alot more than expected

no... I talk about new players...

have you played a sneak before you played that rr2 infil? Yes? So you know how a sneak works, how to use the styles, to switch weapons, to use multiple poisons etc...

A complete new guy/gal who played for 1-2 weeks doesn't. Most don't know about teplating, or how it's done in daoc...

Imagine yourself when you started playing... preferably back in time where all style icons where the same look, you got a 8 button quickbar (only one not three) and 4 char slots...

Today if you don't have a name inside the community, or you are shy to connect to strangers, you are most likely damned to solo...

now you start as hm be generous rr3 into the big scale rvr... and all you meet are mostly rr5+ or guy/gals who know their way around with the classes...

mostly you get rolled...

The bad part with daoc being 10 years old is the community where everybody knows each other somehow... because of the "small" population.

New peeps have it much harder to compete... they start with nothing... don't have alts that can farm, and perhaps want to see the game as whole... not templating at first... etc...

I got to know a lot new players that left because they couldn't get any satisfaction after leveling up their toon... in rvr gotten rolled again and again, got not treated nicely when they were lfg...

So yes keep it so that you need to play with others... DAoC isn't a solo game at all... sure you can do solo, but it will be a lot harder...

IMO make the mobs in agramon drop astral tokens, also make the frontier mobs drop a lot more scales but with a twist: make quite a lot of camps that don't repop quickly so people have to roam if they wish to farm, with some higher level boss mobs that drop a lot of the new currency + other cool stuff but pop infrequently...

Should spur a lot of interest.
