you like many people on here, love PVP/RVR, and think thats how everyone should feel, but sorry to burst your tiny lil bubble, but thats not reality, reality is the majority of MMO players are PvE oriented, and play MMOs strickly for the PvE.

So why are you playing this game? If you like PvE oriented games it would seem to me that you should be playing EQ2 or something similar that has by far better PvE then DAOC. All I am saying is that if you like the RvR setup.. which DAOC defined.. then you owe it to yourself to check out Dominus. If you are playing DAOC for the PvE then you have to be into self mutilation or something.

You'll note, i said WERE as in, not anymore... and if that wasnt enough of a clue for you.

i loved camelot, i played it up untill the release of LOTM...

maybe that helps...

see, i dont play DAoC anymore, to answer your question why i'm playing... wich is.. i'm not, figure if i repeat it enough you'll understand

and you'll also note, i specificaly said i DID NOT like the faction/rvr setup, wich is why i played MORDRED for PVP no faction, just pvp...

nowhere in here did i say *I* prefered PVE solely, i said MMO PLAYERS in general prefer PVE...

see i'm able to put aside my own preferences and recognize what OTHER people like, according to market data and years of experience playing with and talking to the other people...

i played EQ2, for almost a year... but eventualy the PVE got to me, and i moved on to other things, specificaly EvE Online.

the things i liked about DAoC (user interface, character interaction/responsiveness to controls, combat style system, hard interupt spell system, CC) these things ARE NOT IN DOMINUS ... specificaly mentioned by devs, the high council members(aka alpha/beta testers) and Sanya, there(and mythics ex) customer relations person...

so while its 3 realm faction based PVP like camelot... that is where the simularities end...

This is all it should need.

Add to the fact that player crafted gear is the best there is and you have the means for a game that is at least worth checking out.

player crafted gear they have, but you have to grind like mad to get the components, not just buy them from a merchant....

so whats the difrence between grinding mobs for components vs just buying componenets? ... your still grinding...

So if you don't play DAOC anymore, then why are you trolling these forums? As I said, if you didn't like RvR (hence played on Mordred) then you really never liked DAOC to begin with. Many of the things that you say you liked about DAOC are things that a lot of people don't like.. hence you wont see them in any game ever again. User Interface? Are you f'ing serious? CC.. really? Responsiveness of the controls.. really? Come on man.

if all you boil DAoC down to is 3 realm RvR then your a complete idiot, and missed out on 90% of what the game was, and what it was about...

and you'll be completely disapointed in games(dominus) that only replicate that one small portion...

even if you dont realize it, so many other parts of DAoC are what made it what it was, not just the RvR, and when those other games lack that even if they have 3 way rvr, you will find yourself missing those other elements.

Actually this game is the closest thing to DAOC's RvR that will be released since.. well DAOC. Still very much in early development though with a huge update coming in January in terms of graphics etc. The January beta should give us a better idea of where this game is at.

You do realize that you said this game is the 'closest thing to DAOC's RvR' and 'Still very much in early development' in the same breath right?

Yes, also realize that I have been following it very closely for months now. I'm not saying that in the end it will be, but as of right now the direction they are going will make it the closest thing to DAOC's RvR system since DAOC. If they continue to go that direction expect quite a bit of excitement to grow about this game as it gets closer to release... but if it goes the AoC route and flat out lies to players then I will be the first to hammer it ruthlessly.

Not a fan boi here, just stating the facts as they stand today.

Agreed. I see the word "Arenas" once in a game description and I'm gone...buuuuhbye!

Even Diablo has contracted this terminal disease, shame.
