As an alpha tester, I can't speak about the content of the game due to the NDA.

I can say that the alpha server is a ghost-town, and after getting alpha access, a large majority of the alpha testers have disappeared from the forums all together.

Draw your own conclusions...

I'll still be monitoring updates now and then.

My understanding was that the alpha only had 1 realm and a limited about of things to do.. that was months ago. Do you really expect people to keep playing when all they have is that?

They are supposed to be finishing up a major upgrade with their graphics engine and are trying to iron out the issues before going to next stage of beta. I'm hoping that will happen within the next 3 weeks.

nor will i,

i believe it was dark and light? where one of the main dev was quoted as saying something along the lines of, "who cares if the game is broken? as long as it looks good, it will be a glorified chat room"

Can't be DnL. That game is far too butt ugly for a dev to ever say that.

im not sure which mmo it was than

i just remember that it sold a lot of preorders that were literally someone that burnt the game onto a blank CD and with a sharpie wrote "the name of the mmo" on it and shipped them out.

then the game didn't go live and all the people wanted their perorder money back but the game was like, nope!

I'm pretty sure that was DnL. The game that never was has a very unique and entertaining history about it. Selling preorders, not giving people their money back. In fighting over license issues with the graphics engine, promises of great things when there was basically very little in the game. It use to available online for free to play.. if you could actually find mobs to get you past level 1.
