Hopefully, GW2 will have a better community, at least for a while. Daoc's died years ago.

Guaranteed GW2 will have a community full of ppl looking to exploit/cheat/play the fotm class/comp so they can get faster rewards and dominate other players. It's a PvP game, and PvP brings out the worst in people.

Just like DAoC

The attitude in Camelot is that of negativity and exclusion.

"ou're not temped! You can't play with us!"

Double standards ftw - the other day you told a (temped) guildie of mine that he couldnt join your group as he obviously wasn't in a temp as you thought you saw the BG cloak. Now he is in fact temped and the cloak is the nosdoden cloak - not only that but he is an incredibly good player with loads of 8 man experience who could probably carry your flop on inc pug.

If this is true, then .

It's true, I even tried to show him the cloak in trade but he ignored it and ran away with his PUG of Einherjars Vengeance guildies. This after I patiently tried to explain that I was, indeed, templated and had all kinds of visible artifacts and shapeshifts.

I'm not surprised in the slightest.

The irony is delicious.

There is no respect for 8v8 anymore is the most frustrating change. Even on the island wannabe leetist who run 12 or 2 FG's are AJ'ing and chasing down 8mans who play every night... Zerg leaders like Billings, shroomz, etc choose to chase down solo's small mans, whatever they can find across whole zones... Most of the time roaming instead of trying to take keeps. The red = dead mentality is that of zerging trash who will never know the optimal way of playing their toons.. So if you want to run without a template and not be patronized play with the zerg. Their all happy and fun people...

But if you want to have some true fun, and figure out the mechanics of 8v8 and play this game like one would chess - get into a good guild, put on your big boy pants and take the constructive criticism without raging or crying, and learn to love the best RVR mechanics any MMO has to offer which is DAoC. Sh**s Chess it aint checkers!

Every 8v8 guild i've ever been in has ran right by solo's - respected 1v1's respected 8v8's and in return gets AJ'd nowadays almost every fight we get into. The best thing about old DAoC that i would like back is a lot of decent players that understand how 8v8 and respecting other 8mans already fighting makes for the best RP's and IMO the most fun.

It's a rvr game. People are always talking about no respect, well it's the same way around, you have no respect for people who play game with the red=dead attitude.
Always funny to see people demand respect because they want to play the game a certain way.

Most games start with these pond scum in the minority. It takes a while for these parasites to wreck communities. Hopefully arena net will clamp down on cheaters as well as they did in GW1.

I had a couple 40 somethings in my group the other night out in RvR,didnt bother me a bit. for me it's about having fun, the rest, if it comes is a bonus. I've played since release, seen this game ebb and flow in all sorts of ways. Some people are just natural butt heads, others are the bomb and you hate to see them leave. Good luck in whatever you choose to do!

I don't think it's possible for a game that's been around as long as DAoC to have an inviting atmosphere to new players.

The only people playing have been established for far, far too long. That sense of learning and adventure has been gone for a very long time.

Play a new game and learn WITH people. Don't expect them to take a step back with you.

Is that the way most people feel?

That's not the way I feel. I'll help or group anyone that asks.
