Mine goes through April and I am going to cancel mine not because I am board it is just for the first time in any game that I am miserable playing a game that I love to play.

Heroics are a nightmare not because of the difficulty or the fail & bails but because of all the whining, blaming, name calling, eliteist you suck and I don't, bowing to the tank/healers whims or they will leave, etc... BS

Or waiting 40 mins to get in one only to have the tank at the start say this group is not good enough for me I am out or looks like too many here are going to roll on the orbs so I am not going to waste my time and leave.

Trying to do the dailies in Tol Barad is mess with people fighting over quest items, kills, like seeing you are heading one and use a speed burst to beat you to it or they will be killing one thing see you are headed for another and range tag it so you can't and they can etc...

To make matters worse since the Tol Barad change it is virtually impossible to defend it, and on my PVE server the Horde owned it near 24/7 thus are not happy. So in an act of revenge when Ali gets control the Horde go in to whatever underground area we have quests for, wait until we are killing something and kill us usually stealthed. If we are not flagged they will get close to you while killing something and if you use any kind of AoE you will get flagged and be killed by them etc... This can make quest completion a long process at times.

Trying to do the random be daily on Ali can take me anywhere from 5-to as many as 18 rounds to win thus a sure sign PVP is getting progressively worse.

The kicker is Wow has an anal development team that I am convinced could fix most everything overnight if they wanted to but instead of developing for the betterment of the game or the player they are developing for job security. It’s working too, for example; even after this last patch the DPS difference between DPS classes is disparaging at best, not to mention between specs thus going to need a lot more work.

The fact is the overall climate in WoW as well the direction is heading just flat out sucks.

Well let's see.....

I'm almost done with twlight highlands...on to Uldum! Now that they've made it so I can DF any of the dungeons without having to actually have gone to the entrance Sat urday will be fun.

So far I've cleared 3 normal dungeons, SC, BRC, and GB.

Working on some dailies achieves through deepholm. Tol Barad dailies. Trying to get First-aid and Arch to 525. And when I'm 'done' with my main, I can start working on my next toon.

Yeah we want challenges, but wrecking the PvE game too support Arena play is not the way to do it. Note, I did not say they ruined PvE at the expense of PvP - they ruined at the expense of Arenas. There is a big difference between the two.

I am not sure why you think they did anything negative towards PVE for arenas sake. Trust me when I say that most people who arena say they ruined our classes(s) because of PVE.

I, on the other hand, prefer a command-line system 'cause i'm so hardcore
/north /north *You encounter an [Avatar of the god Set]!*
/cast sheild *sheild spell unavailable*
/csat shield *csat: unknown command*
*[Avatar of Set] beheads [Peasant]*

Ferry, Cataclysm was all about making their Arena Tournaments viable instead of being the burst joke fest they were before.

The huge health pools are there to mitigate burst being so overpowering in Arena

They spread abilities in an attempt to diversify classes in Arena (like blood lust) and who can cleanse what

They then nerfed healing to 25% of its former efficiency to prevent that from dragging Arena games out nearly indefinitely because of the new large health pools

There are many more changes but they point one way : their e-peen game is more important to them than us

Well said, Mithan. I feel like I could have written this as I feel the same way.

Frankly the mold is breaking at this point. You can only pour in so much stuff until the mold needs to be replaced. Activision has removed any notion of innovation from its products and is purely attempting to iterate on things they know work. Unfortunately, this is starting to bite them in the ass. Guitar Hero was the first victim of their shortsighted nature.

I think this is the best metaphor.

The thing is ... and it happens over time as the burnout lessens ... you have to remember the good parts. It's fair to bash WoW, Blizzard and Activision, but there were a lot of good times mixed in there too.

For example, despite the suck that was farming fire resistance gear, one of my fondest memories was when my old guild took down rag the first time. Other things that stick out as being awesome were Dire Maul, Tempest Keep (5-mans) and Karazhan. As you can see however, there's not really a whole lot recently that was epic or even very good.

In any event, good hunting Mith with whatever internet dragons you decided to go kill next.

I hated Dire Maul. That is bad dungeon design.

And why is that? I would argue that Dire Maul was the best instance in the game and Karazhan was the best raid instance. Dire Maul was non-linear, had triggered events (king tribute, releasing of the old tree), class quests, an arena with rare spawns and loots, epic drops, class rewards, a vendor (what other instance has a vendor?!) great artwork and music. I think the original Deadmines might be 2nd on my list.

In terms of the game: I quit in July from the official servers. Looking forward to what Blizzard has coming in 2012!

An interesting thread from a few months back.

http://vnboards.ign.com/world_of_warcraft_general_board/b19789/113224088/

WoW still needs the third option in there someplace, outside of Heroics/Raids and PVP.

It also isn't good to go ahead and have one design leader in the previous expansion and design that expansion to make content accessible to the masses, Kapalan. Then you have the new design team who wishes to flex their epeen apparently and show that that they can go ahead make difficult content, Ghostcrawler and company.

In the end all that happens is a frustrated player base who isn't having fun with out a third option in place and design policy change under the new regime.

My sub ends sometime in March and won't be resubbing either. Main reason I resubbed was having good time with friends I've made in my play time during the years. Also just don't have the time due to taking classes.

BTW Mithan, have you read Towers yet, or are you still doing your epic Reread of Jordan?
