Even if they do, I bet they tap dance around their typical rude and snide demeanor

he may not, it was a huge step for him to admit that another game is actually good

(i'm kidding korrigan)

I've been playing MMO's since they originally hit the internet back in the early 1990 and I am getting totally sick of the genre and I need something new, not new textures or a new world or thousands of "new" quests that have us doing the same old useless thing but something actually NEW. You know, like a MMOFPS or something.

Beside WoW/Rift, I also play this:
http://www.testdriveunlimited2.com/

It's a "MMOR" (Racing Game). You have a huge world to explore (the whole island of Ibiza), and the game is quite sandboxish, you can basically do whatever you want beside participating championships. There's even a Casino on the island.

It's a fun digression from the usual MMORPGs and the gameplay is of course totally different.

To the opposite of you and the Kindergarten Club, Mithan doesn't post useless crap and insults, but gives a constructive argumentation of why he made that decision. He's also not there just saying "zomg wow sucks" and whining about everything the developers do. That's the difference between him (and a few other "honorable" posters who stayed despite the ambient trolling) and the troll club. And you just gave another example of that with that useless bait post of yours, by the way. And I would bet real money that your next post in this thread will illustrate it even more.

The list of games I find "good" is possibly longer than the list of all MMOs you've played

I've canceled my account as well and letting it run out. Don't know if I'll be back.

I've done pretty much all there is to do. My DK is fully heroic geared, so I've already run the few heroics that exist enough times that I don't want to see them any more.

Done Baradin Hold a few times and remembered that raids, no matter how short, are just not fun and never will be.

PVP queues have gotten even longer.

Just nothing left to do and there is nothing "new" at all in this supposed "expansion" pack.

The game wasn't expanded, it was recycled.

That can be said for every xpac released for WoW, the exp counter was just reset.

Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

Pretty much the only mini game that interests me these days is playing the AH. I spend about an hour to do the crafter dailies on several characters, restock on crafting materials (overstock if I find good bargains) and replenish my AH mules with crafted stuff and then list them.

It's a pretty set routine.

I have a particular number in mind, that I want to reach before Rift comes out. Other than that, I am catching up on Deadwood, The Tudors and Boardwalk Empire.

This time it's worse though. Outland and Northrend had a vast, new feel to them that kept you entertained for a while, but the few new zones we were given this time are scattered and feel gimmicky (not to mention linear. Whoever came up with that idea, needs to be dickpunched).

I keep hoping WoW will keep me occupied until Diablo III comes out. I am starting to doubt that. Now and then I look at my level 62 warrior and think, Hmm, maybe I should spend time getting him leveled up since rogue and warrior are only classes I don't have at max.

Then reality sets in and I realize that it would still be the same ole same once he got there.

One thing I would say, WoW certainly has given a lot of fun over the years. Not many of my favorite games, like RTS or turn-based strategy, last more than a few months of solid play.

WoW, and DAOC before it, have provided a lot of entertainment value.

I am feeling the same way. I just (barely) got geared up for Heroics a few weeks ago and was looking forward to doing some more raiding and not having to deal with queues as much. I must say I am a bit burned out too by the long queues. I buy game cards so I can control my spending better, and looks like when the next game card runs out, that is it for me.

Rift should keep me occupied for 3 or 4 months. Although quests are fairly dry, I love the invasaion, rifts etc. that open up across the world. It makes PvE a bit more exciting and tends to break the monotony of the grind.

Here are some of my other thoughts on Cataclysm:

- 80 - 85 went way too fast. I hit 85 without doing one quest in Hyjal. I feel there was enough content in the game to push level cap a bit higher. Maybe one more zone would have been enough to push level caps up.

- I loved the challenge of Heroics, however it became extremely frustrating seeing gear drop that I could not use over and over again. (I think I have killed Anhuur around 8 times now, and still have not seen his book drop.) The long queue times just exacerbated this problem. Waiting 40 minutes and then runnning 1 heroic over two hours meant a 3 hour time committment. Loot tables should be adjusted so that something DPS can use is guaranteed to drop...at least once, throughout the dungeon.

- 6 years of WoW and they have added....1 class to the game?

- Very little variety with regards to classes, specifications and gear. I know this would be a bit** to balance, and create content around, but give us some more flexibility to make more customized character specifications.

WoW is still a great game, but it is starting to show its age with regards to gameplay mechanics. More of the same, no matter how polished, just gets boring that much faster.
