Kind of wish I saved money on Rift. I haven't played an MMO that much in the past few years so I figured I'd see what all the hype is about. Right away I'm just doing a bunch of fedex and kill quests like every other game, and my health never drops below 90%. I assumed games would have more to offer at this point, but it feels like I've already played this game a billion times. Turned off all the tips and didn't read any of the tutorials and I still know how to do everything.
Going to play a bit more over the month, but so far I don't get the hype. It's well made and solid from a technical stand point, it's just boring.

Same here. It was barely worth the money.
I found myself doing some dailies in WoW today and actually enjoying it more than Rift, and ended also doing a couple of heroics on alts with some friend's alts.
I will eventually play a bit more, but the game is already on the same way than Conan, Warhammer, etc... => the way to the trashcan.

I love RIFT. The class variation is just off the scales. My tank has a pet that attacks lol how cool is that!
Wow is dead to me because its just too old for me now as an mmo. Even though RIFT copied a lot of the good things in many mmo's including wow at least its different.
RIP WOW for me.

I am playing Rift still yet I find myself taking more breaks from it throughout the day then I did with WOW.
I hope I am not reading this right and assuming you play video games all day long..and just take breaks?
...is this the norm.. are you people online all the time?
Actually for her, yes. Sorry Goldie.
She's a stay at home wife with no children. When we met, two years ago, she would burn through 30 levels in a day. I think she had 3 or 4 85's. But that's because there are some clases she won't play.

I found something else by accident.
It has become my new passion.

LOL But remind the people that I get all my chores done that is needed Plus I have a husband who wont let me work so basically I have NO life here. LOL The only class I won't play is a warrior. I do take breaks I watch tv and such.. I have a clean house, animals are taken care of, I go shopping and I even find time to visit friends outside of my state.. So.. Yeah.. here I am trying to explain that it isnt as bad as what I wrote.. /sigh! And ICole- I never burned 30 levels in one day! Now I can because of how easy they made leveling when your guild gets the extra perks along with boa's.. Wow 2 years .. Dang.. I need to find a hobby! LOL

To be honest, playing MMORPGs is not a more silly leisure activity than building miniature golden gate bridges using matches, collecting stamps, watching TV for hours every day, or similar crap.
You make a BIG mistake trying to justify your "real life" to the VN board trolls, goldie... most of them are not better, if not worse than you. Don't let them in - just ignore them when they try to do that.

Always funny to see geeks picking on geeks, as if there are levels to the geekdom. We are all posting on a online forum!
