With respect to the OP - the male ego is pretty funny. Most men think that lesbians are only gay because they haven't met the right penis yet.
Generally, gay women seem to be more "accepted" than gay men... though that all seems to be changing, which is good!

It all has to do with ego. Men think all lesbians would bang them if only they knew what they were missing so they like them. Straight men fear gay men because their ego tells them any gay man is one bar of soap away from raping them because they are so attractive no gay man could resist them.
Women have their own issues but that sort of ego-centrism isn't really one of them. Women have never been nearly as intersted in controlling people's bedroom behavior as men have. It probably has a biological component having to do with child birth that even rubs off to same-sex conduct.

Not true. Straight women have this same fear that lesbians will hit on them because they are so attractive they just can't be resisted. It's a straight issue in general. Maybe not as bad as men but it's there nevertheless.
