Shadowbane had very good classes and ways to spec them, but
had horrible graphics, and was full of bugs and cheats

Most disappointing game you ever played? |
The sequel to Betrayal at Krondor. Betrayal is one of my all time favorites. The sequel stunk. Same with Bard's Tale 2. Ultima 9, as someone mentioned, was also a let down.
For non-sequels, probably Dungeon Lords. It was done by D.W.Bradley, who did the later Wizardry games but was a mess of bugs and lousy game play.

Most disappointing game you ever played? |
Shadowbane was being hyped as the EQ killer before DAOC came out. I remember lots of conversations in public chat about how awesome Shadowbane was going to be and how EQ would be deserted when it came out.

Except that DAoC came out two full years before Shadowbane.
