You're basing your argument almost entirely on Zimmermans word? So far, evidence and common sense is pointing towards exactly the opposite of what he's now claiming. And the father has already stated the opposite of what the "lead detective" is stating regarding the phone call.

If not, then Zimmerman is certainly guilty of something.

Really? So if I attack you and you get the upper hand for 1 second and I shoot you, I can claim self defense because I shot you during the brief moment you had the upper hand?
Even if you say yes, that doesn't mean Zimmerman isn't guilty of anything. It would just mean that by your definition he isn't guilty of murder. There are any number of other crimes he could be guilty of.

I'm guessing harrasment, disorderly conduct, assualt, assault with a deadly weapon, etc... police love throwing charges.

Not really true. If the kid was on top of Zimmerman punching him in the face because Zimmerman attacked him Zimmerman is guilty of manslaughter at the least and probably murder.
