Harassing an innocent person is though.

It is acceptable to follow someone you suspect of having committed a crime.

It's illegal to harass an innocent person though.

This kid was innocent and Zimmerman had no valid reason to suspect him of committing a crime. His suspicion was based purely on bias.

You don't know any of that for sure. All you know is what others have been screaming.

If someone followed my son or daughter around - my first thought would be that the 'follower' is a pedophile or kidnapper or some other kind of crazy. It wouldn't be - that guy is 'a good samaritan'. If I was walking down the street and somebody started following me, I'd either turn around and say 'what the f*** are you doing!' or Id pull out my cellphone and call 911 asking for help.

It seems like this is a scenario where the stand your grond law is designed to protect the person being followed.

The police are trying to cover their behinds, so, they are releasing the selective bits of information that bolster their claim that Zimmerman did nothing wrong.

Apparently, no one saw anything but the tail end of the actual confrontation. The kid was killed in a back yard. If Zimmerman had really been walking away, why did it happen in a back yard? Also, the kid was on the phone with his girl friend at the time. He asked the guy...why are you following me? Certainly implies that Zimmerman was still following him.

It's possible that Zimmerman followed the kid into the back yard, then, turned around and walked away, then the kid attacked him. Seems a bit unlikely, but, certainly not beyond the realm of possibility. That seems like the kind of thing a Grand Jury, at the very least, should be deciding, though.

I suppose it's possible that the kid was shooting a firearm in the air and carrying a pillowcase full of silver, but I'm not sure why no one has bothered to mention it.

I haven't followed the story much, but why didn't the kid call the cops?
