My Stepdad has Hughes net, and has been having the same issues ever since the patch happened. He has called Hughes and Mythic numerous times. Getting no help what so ever.

The issue is obviously on their end, and they need to work a little harder on fixing the problem.

Well ... just got off the phone with customer service, and got told that the problem got escalated up to a higher level, those people did an investigation and found that my ISP is blocking the ports for DAoC....


i pointed out that it is ALL satellite users, not just hughes, and for both the big companies to kill the ports at exactly the same time.. on patch day is really far fetched...


sounded like the rep's hands were kinda tied....i think we ve been cut loose


so-- best case senario -maybe when 1.108 rolls around? (or move, hope for dsl ect)


i for one think this is a great time to wrap it up and call it good still a great game, really like alot of aspects of it - could nt RVR at the end, but even the PVE was right up my alley. people usually say it sucks, and point out the Elder Scrolls or something- Those games dont have what im looking for or the feel - DAoC does.


so - had a great time with this game since Jan 02, you all take care.. and might at some point see you again (tech gods willing).

have you tried connecting via a normal dialup connection and see if daoc lets you log in then... if a standard dialup (not through the same isp) works, but the sat doesnt.. well then its obviously a problem with the satalite connection and not on mythics end.

the problem is also obviously not on mythics end either, if dialup connection works.. and your accounts work..

its obviously a problem with your regular internet provider...

Heavy bandwidth users are terminated outright by Satellite companies - with warning comming before hand.


and Competing companies? at the same time?


also, at Hughes, changes like this hit at 12:00 am eastern...not at 8:00am est


and i can garantee Wildblue doesnt march to hughesnet's beat.

If you are able to get to the loading screen, you are connected at that point. You make a selection to pick a server and nothing happens. This seems like a problem with the logon server.


It is not accepting your exchange. Most likely Mythic's end and involves certain isp info exchanges on the logon server.

we can choose the server- but when we try to get to the Realm choice the bar progresses to 95 % and then : "service not available".


I dont have a land line (cell only) so even dial up is not an option.

dial-up works even someone in this thread said they worked just fine on dialup when there sat wasnt working.

no other complaints of the same nature from people not using sat...

so obviously... the problem is the sat... not mythic.
