Ok so i got todays patch and now i cant play.

Can get threw to server selection. but once pick a server and hit play the loading screen comes up and never finishes, after min or so it just comes back service not avalible. Figured it was just a bug with that patch but its still doing it many hours later.

its your firewall.

the game.dll has been changed so your firewall no longer allows it access...

I am having the same problem with Wildblue (satelite ISP). they must have noticed all the constant online activity and banned DAoC just like they did to a lot of other streaming applications/games/websites. The first time I noticed that Wildblue blocks certain things is when I tried to listen to my XM Radio online and it wouldnt work, so i called Wildblue and they told me that they block it because of the constant (streaming) load on their satelite system. If they did block DAoC I'm gana go off on em tomarrow on the phone. They are apparently upgrading their system soon tho to boost speeds to 10-20MBPS down and 1-2MBPS upload. Hopefully that will remove their internet restrictions... POS Satelite internet! wish i could get cable or dsl in my area...

Well I finally talked to my ISP (phones opened at 4am pst) wildblue has no record of blocking DAoC/Electronic Arts/Mythic Entertainment. So the problems is on the DAoC side. I was trying to get to the bottom of this ASAP (hence the /appeal). I have been playing DAoC since early 2000 (beta version) this is the fisrt time i have had a real problem logging in that wasnt on my side of the issue. I noticed the only people that have had problems logging in since the last patch have been Satelite users and the only ones that stated their ISP's were wildblue users. thought maybe DAoC could shed some light on the issue. Thanks for the posts, but mythic still has an issue with their last patch for some people, and they need to approach the situation, and besides e-mails i figured /appeals might help the process along, but since i cant log in to /appeal i thought i might reach out to the brothership of my fellow gamers... please help me pass this info along to Mythic...

well obviously you do, because if your internet is working, and you can log your account in, then the game.dll cant connect.. its a firewall issue.

windows has a lame built in firewall, alot of anti-virus programs have a firewall in them now, and alot of routers are starting to have firewalls in them...

its not mythics end, otherwise no-one would be able to login, but sense there are people playing just fine... the login error is clientside.

you even take the time to state that the only people with problems are sat/wild blue (wich i dont believe is true, unless the original OP is sat as well)

so how can it be mythics problem if you are pinpointing a difrent source of the problem (sat connections)

with EVERY patch, there ends up a bunch of people not able to login, and 99% of the time its a firewall related issue on the client side not allowing the new game.dll to have access to the internet..

ok, ok, makes sense... but how can we (the ones locked out) fix the firewall issue. i have gone through all the forums on caemlotherald.com and tried all the previous fixed to old patch problems, including firewall issues and still no results... thanks for the info, just hoping mythic can address the situation and help those in need sooner than later. I have dissabled my anti-virus (firewall), and windows firewall also with no results. Just missin my game and goin through withdrawls

What OS are you running?

It may be needed to run the patcher in Admin mode if you're running Vista/7.

Also, where are you playing from (although if you're on Satellite it may not matter)

Aside from that, a traceroute to http://patch.daoc.eamythic.com:1380 or if from the EU, http://patch-eu.daoc.eamythic.com:1380

Well it's not firewall issue, cause it happens to me also - but only on 1 out of 3 accounts. When it happens on 1 account, I try other account and have no problem with login.
+ it started after halloween patch.

So if its firewall issue - why can I login 2 out of 3 accounts on the same server ?
