This thread is about stealther damage coming close to or even exceeding light tank damage (such as blademaster) without using PA/CD when there is supposed to be a significant gap in DPS between the two. It has nothing to do with armsmen. You can whine about heavy tanks all you want, it has nothing to do with this balance issue I stated.





This is a complete lie. Nightshades are crush vulnerable and I hit them for 400-500 max with a 2h crush weapon. If they use debuff poison, that goes down to like 300. The only possible way to get hit for that much is for someone to use an Astral 2h that debuffs a random armor piece for 10-15 seconds then swing at that specific piece. It's extremely rare for it to happen and the only time I've done it, I hit a warrior for 700 with no crit but pure melee of other realms have access to the same weapon. Most people don't use them.

So, some folks are just super leet. I ain't one of them. You guys that complain about stuff and get the classes nerfed are a pain the the queester to the rest of us. Sometimes I lose on, all classes that I play, and sometimes I win, on all classes that I play. I don't expect to be the god of DAOC. Some guys who play great and have all the toys, I'll never beat, regardless of the class I'm on. I'm just an average (maybe not even that) player. So it really pisses me off to see these 'intellectual' shouting matches on VN Boards because it's really just a small number of players that do the complaining, or beat up on the guy asking a question.

To the topic: assassins should be able to beat any class, even tanks, if they get the jump on them and they play right. But NO assassin should be able to kill anyone and everyone every time. That's my opinion. I liked the way the one guy put it: caster > tank > assassin > caster. But, again, it shouldn't always fall like that. I think assassins should have to pick and choose a little more, though. Getting Viper III, insta popping toys, etc., is a bit much.

Maybe I just suck and you can all make fun of me now. Whatever.

ROFL, i can't belive that in 2011 people still belive that, at your rank you should really know something about your class.
If someone blocks your PA it's becouse your PA was not going to land anyway, due to lag or bad positioning or whatever.

Thats what i was trying to point out in my last post. For a short time we are suppose to far exceed the short burst damage of ANY melee class and if speced for it such as my SB is as a Shadowzerker with Aug con 3 or 4 i think he has I have just as much maybe a little less Str then a lot of tanks (midgard) so of course i'm gunna hit as hard. Add in my poisons and procs I'll hit harder. The only two class that can really out do us in damage including short bursts is a Zerker or a Savage and thats it. If they heavy tanks and light tanks of each realm don't have the hit points or toys to survive well thats their fault and need to fix it. So don't complain about nerfing us if our class is doing EXACTLY what its suppose to do. Ton of damage in a short time = sneaks.....hit points and toys to survive that = all tanks

And when was this shield nerf i keep hearing about? I'm returning to the game in about a month or two and have been gone for about a year and a half now so i'm still not all up to speed on everything

They're only supposed to do high damage with critical strike attacks from stealth. They're not supposed to be anywhere near or exceeding light tank damage without doing so but they are.

Do you develop for the game? If not, it is not your place at all to say what they are supposed to do and not supposed to do

But he plays the game. Enough complaints and anything can change. Scouts got slam nerf (in addition to light tanks), warlocks lost chamber dump, rangers lost their advantage in self buffs (lost PD), heretics lost effective zombie rez, etc. all because people complained about class balance.

However in sneaks' defense, sneaks are especially vulnerable to vampiirs, valkaries, and reavers and I usually see those classes take sneaks out most of the time. My data was collected in Labyrinth, so this probably doesn't account for real rvr.

Do you even have a solo kill to your name btw? Why do you care about having DW love or hitting someone when you have 3-7 friends stuck to your rump?
