There are those who play tank classes, and those that tank.

Excellent. That should give me time to hit 20 tomorrow night on my Champion/Beastmaster/Reaver.

btw, in case anyone hasn't done an extra soul quest yet, here's a quick write-up in chat from my guildmate (also in beta):

(edits: for his spelling and we're obviously playing Guardian)

How To Do A Soul Quest

(1) go to Sanctum, and find the NPC with the title <[Classname]> you're looking for

so if you're looking for Sentinel, find the NPC with the <Sentinel> title.

You need to be at least level 13.

(2) Take the soul quest from that NPC. You can only have ONE soul quest at a time.

(3) Now, go out and find some rift. Any rift. A level 6 rift works just fine. Do that rift to completion with the group there.

(4) At the end of the rift, click the little loot icon on the rift thingy that pops up (rift status bar? the little circle with the numbers etc)

(5) you will loot a yellow-con item called a Planar Shard.

(6) With the Planar Shard in your inventory, you should now have two other items.

One is a Soul Net (grey hammery thing)

The other is a _Soul Siphon) (yellow-goldy scepter)

(7) Right after the rift finishes, and you loot the Planar Shard (from the Rift Status UI thingy... it's basically PQ loot just for you)

Right after the rift finishes, use the Soul Net

(8) This will spawn a level 15-18 mob that's pretty easy. Mow it down.

(9) After the mob you've just summoned is dead, you must then target its corpse and use the Soul Siphon

(10) Hooray you're done, go back to Sanctum, turn it in, and enjoy your shiny new soul. ^_^

That's what I spent most of my time doing tonight. Picked up all the Warrior souls. Trying to find the best combo.

Classes with ranged attacks have a serious advantage in this game.

Why do you say that? I typically win top 3 in my RIFT groups (which you can tell when you receive the blue token reward).

Do I have to PVE or can I just level through pvp in this game?

Yeah you earn XP for Warfronts. I believe I remember seeing getting 5k xp for winning Martyrdom, so not sure how that scales, but I was level 29.

Ok, so is there like a good "beginner guide" somewhere?

I'm not sure I understand what the "PvP soul" is vs the "regular?" souls. Do I get 3 regulars and 1 pvp simultaneously?

You basically pick an Archetype first: Warrior, Rogue, Cleric, or Mage.

Then you can pick three "talent trees" out of 9 possible choices. One of these souls is geared towards PvP that has abilities like "does more damage to players" or whatever.
