We ran into a level 17 elite Death Boss that had like 17,000 HP....we had at least 20 in our raid group, and we just bum rushed the crap out of him. Big Mistake...he one hit everyone meleeing him (and we were ~12-14) . I tried to suggest one melee get spam healed while he kites the guy around and the range just rape him, but no one wanted to listen lol

How do you obtain new souls after the first three? I have a level 17 cleric who I want to try out a new soul but dont feel like rerolling. Also, is there a current soul builder around?


It really looks like Ill buy the CE and play for a few months. I really love the customization.

As far as getting new souls, you go to your capital city (meridian or sanctum) find the soul you want and pick up a quest.

Meaning, you are a cleric (I know not what souls you have), but if you want to pick up say, cabalist, then you find the person in the capital city that has <Cabilist Trainer Person> under their name, and do the quest.

These quest unlock at lvl 13 or 15, I don't remember, and they all require "beating rifts" to complete.

I feel like the biggest nerd right now. It was about 9:30am when this happened a second ago. We had an invasion (the green ones where the life of the forests gets possed.. fae butterly, sicklethorns, etc) anyhow, there were only 2-3 of us trying to take things down. I swear I haven't 'rp'ed in over 10 years as I had grown out of it. I figured I'd be goofy though and have some fun, and repeat what i was doing to my wife who's on the couch healing and playing her mini games on her laptop. By the end of it I had her cracking up (always a plus on the homefront) and had built 2 public raid groups i believe (we maxed out the first i think?) with over 40 people moving from one invasion site to the next and we finally took down gnarledon. Was an epic fight on him at our level but so fun. At the end, some fellow goes, "What do we do now?" and I go "Enjoy your lives!" He responds, "Hooray!" Few seconds later get a few tellsa from folks that they haven't seen someone RP like that in along time... as nerdy as I felt I also had the most fun I've had in a video game since ultima online.

So the calculator has mage stuff like Chloromancer, and Archmage that I don't see on the Rift website. How do I know what these are?

Is there a place that's good for information about how the various trees / classes function?

Chloromancer is the healing soul for mages, Archmage is the PvP soul.

Ok, so is there like a good "beginner guide" somewhere?

I'm not sure I understand what the "PvP soul" is vs the "regular?" souls. Do I get 3 regulars and 1 pvp simultaneously?

the pvp souls are there as a main (or side) soul for those who want a little more advantage PVP wise. However, you have to be a certain rank to put points in certain tiers (like rank 2 to spend points on the second tier). They count as one of your three souls.

I think I want to role play a drunken cleric Any ideas for interesting soul combos?

I figure everyone is always yelling about needing clerics, well it will be fun to see how many put up with a drunk one, hehe!

Not obnoxious or anything mind you, I'll still play well, but it might spice it up a bit.
