you guys do know you must be DONE with the 1year sub BEFORE you get D3 right?

Q: When do I get Diablo III and the other exclusive benefits?

A: You'll be able to download and play Diablo III as soon as it's available and once you complete the one-year term, it's yours to keep, even if you cancel your subscription. Tyrael's Charger will be available with Patch 4.3, and beta access will go live with the beta launch.

So if it comes out in 6 months you must wait another 6 months before you can download it.

reading comprehension fail

It says very clearly that you get to download and play as soon as the game comes out regardless of where you are in your 12 month agreement. If you stop paying before the end of the 12 months you lose access to D3, but once the 12 months is over you're free to cancel your WoW account without losing your D3 access.

come back in when D3 is out and we see who read it right then, unless blizzard wants to clear it up by saying

"ou'll be able to download and play Diablo III as soon as it's available and after your contract is up, you can keep the full game even if you cancel your sub"

You download and login to play D3 through battlenet..if you try to buck the system and cancel WOW after 3 months they take D3 access away from you. You have to complete the one year contract to own D3 forever. They wouldn't sell 20 of this deal if you had to wait a year to play the free game.

I would be more concerned about the other way that Blizz takes longer than a year to come out with D3. Also, did you read this in the faq?

Bliz FAQ posted:

Q: Can I cancel my World of Warcraft subscription at any point during the 12-month term?

A: By taking advantage of this special promotion, you are committing to a 12-month World of Warcraft subscription, and you cannot cancel your subscription until the 12-month term of the agreement has ended.

So I read that as the user cannot cancel until after the 12 month time span, which means you must subscribe for 12 months + one more term. So if you pick the 6 month option, hopefully you can change to the one month option before the next billing cycle. Never tried to change subscription type before. I have always just canceled.

This is utterly hilarious if you think about it. I just need to cancel my credit/debit card or remove payment method and they are screwed.
It's gonna be funny to watch them trying to solve the hundred of unpaid monthly fees this gonna generate.

You honestly think they haven't thought about that? You can rest assured your credit card info will be retained somewhere to avoid such things.

Blizzard knows money, if they know anything.

Screwed how exactly? If your sub runs out while you're within the 12 month commitment you lose access both D3 and WoW as well as any in-game perks. Further, if you try to avoid payment by disputing the charges with your credit card company they'll likely just close your WoW account permanently.

I question a lot of Blizzard's recent design decisions but, frankly, they didn't become the juggernaut that they are today by making stupid business decisions. If you really believe that they haven't thought this thing through than you're deluding yourself.
