The way they spin it is they don't want wow players who are going to play diablo to have to choose between keeping their wow sub and buying diablo.

look at the past years subscriptions how they dropped 1 million players overall since the release of Cata. They are looking for a way to lock people into a year long plan even if you pay 1 month at a time. You will not be able to cancel your subscription at all, unless you do a reverse charge or the CC you use expires during that time. I really dont see this helping Blizzard out too much. The big fanboys that are all about obtaining mounts and achievements seem the only likely subscribers to this annual plan.

There's a good chunk of the player base who are ineligible. Stupid. I know they want to hand out the mount in 4.3 and hand out diablo on release for free but would it be so tough to say from this date if you pay for 12 months, at the end of the 12 months you get a mount? That would at least let those guys who CAN'T sign up get a shot at the mount.
It's just...yeah...will I be signing up? Probably, it's a killer mount and only one game is drawing me away from WoW and it's not even released yet and won't be for some time. In all likelyhood I'll still be playing WoW for a year anyway, so why not? Ebay diablo.

I signed up. I see my kids playing WoW after 5.0, me probably from time to time. I also wanted the mount. I like mounts and that one is way cool.

You have to be 18 to enter into the 12 month contract. I think thats why some would be ineligible.
Oh and - I really want to play GW2 but dont think it will go live in less than a year anyway so I was going to have the sub regardless.
