damn I wish I'd stop reading this thread. I really would like to wait till people know more about the end game before running out and buying it, but from the video's I've seen it sure does look great.

i know i've said it before, but it reminds me of daoc in 01, very peaceful and calm leveling. And while it looks like every asian rpg the UI is well done.

Hah. I know what you mean, but I'd rather have to catch up in a few months if it's a great game than waste more time pveing in a flop like I did in WAR. See you in a 3 or 4 months if Aion's end game doesn't turn out like I expect.

Right now theres a lot of lvl 25-30 pvp happening in the Abyss... in 3-4 months the curve is going to be all 40-50's in the Abyss so the grind will be worse to hit the entry level to pvp.

I'll put it like this:

I played WAR at beta and release, and I've played AION since release. I think AION has been, by far, a MUCH better game than WAR. While the variety in classes is very marginal, the gameplay/mechanics/possibilities are a lot better and holds a lot more potential than I felt WAR ever did.

From the start of WAR I had a very lukewarm feel and had stated, with to much dismay of the people in OCT, had much a bland, vanilla, boring game it was. I had hoped that RvR in WAR held something to be a saving grace, but it was not to be. From watching the AION videos, the PvP and RvR looks a lot more interesting, balanced, and well done.

Time will tell.

I dunno, I just have a bad lack of trust in grinding in a new game only to discover the end game is pure vomit. I went to WAR due to all the hype (as I have many other games) only to discover after leveling 4 chars to 40, that it was a horrible end game with nothing to do. I spent a good majority of my time bossing around my PL’rs to liquidate their gold, and sell off their toons, before the exp exploit mass ban and before the game died – while chatting with Gudd about that old hag he had in his guild that I would murder on sight on whatever server he was on. Once we sold out of that game, we went to WoW, which I’ve always been off and on at, and re leveled our chars to the new 80 max and honor armored all my chars. I still play that with my sister and some locals while my PL’rs do their rounds etc, but I don’t see me ever getting the intense non stop fun that DAOC once had. That feeling will never return. I’ll most likely activate DAOC and see if anything is good here, or if its so bland and this is a last leg, it won’t ever be worth playing again, while I rot in WoW. That game at least adds new flavor and content offer, and I make a good buck there. I have not even researched how to make real money on Aion or if it’s possible… I know zero about the game other then you get to be an anime char with big boobs and wings.

Guud said it best.. time will tell.. Ill wait till people I know and trust HIT the pvp area and the kinks are worked out before I even consider making a move to new areas again... I see no need to rush any more.
