At least 35% of the Outpost would vote for him in the general election against Obama even if they pretend to deny it now. For 90% of our resident RWNs saving the county is all that matters.

I corrected your wording to reflect the truth.

To tell you the truth I have no idea what Rick Santorum stands for. He was stuck with the loser title and I ignored him because of it. I'll have to talk a closer look know.

Kind of perdictable that our liberals will quickly swap their hate to whomever looks like they might win. With no facts to go with they have to start making things up right away. I bet the Obama dirt machine is working overtime on this as we sleep.

Do you ever bother reading threads?

There's a line drawn somewhere. If a person brought home their dead infant and BBQ'd it on the grill and ate it - would this just be their way of "dealing with death"? If they played hacky sack with its sad and limp little corpse until its brains burst on their driveway - could this just be dismissed as their way of "dealing with death"? If they snorted cocaine off of its tiny little ass before mailing it to a whore they once knew in Mexico with a perfect rose stuffed in its mouth - could this just be their own, personal, way of "dealing with death"?

Must we entertain any sort of strange and unusual behavior with a "oh, they're just grieving"? Or, can we in some occasions, say "Wow - they're weird!"

Did Santorum's family do any of those things? If so, yes, I would agree that would be weird and would affect how I would feel about him as a candidate.

I can respect your hands off approach to grieving and such but seriously - You don't think bringing a dead fetus to 'term', packing it up and bringing it home to 'play with' is a bit creepy?

Fine by all means if that's what you gotta do to deal with the situation (saying this to and about Santorum), knock yourself out, but don't act all surprised and indignant when people tell you how creepy and weird it is...

So you don't know anything about him but obviously anyone that does and attacks him must be doing so from a position without facts... Why do you say that, because you don't have any facts there fore everyone must be as dumb and lazy as you and also have no facts...

The insane logic of our resident stupid troll...

Some of you idiots have a long way to go before your brains mature.

Taking a fetus, dicing it/stick it in a blender/use any possible way for stem cell research = good
Taking your still born home for a day so the family can grasp what happened and grieve = bad

Many of you will end up alone and dying of angst induced illnesses.

Other than your grotesque mischaracterization of both positions... What is silly or confusing about these positions? Where is the perceived silly contradiction?

I don't hold it against him. People grieve in their own ways. I think its weird personally, but it's his and his family's business.

From what I know about their stillbirth, they knew the child was at risk and were working with the doctors to try to save him, though the impression I get is that the doctors didn't give him a very high chance of survival. The baby had an in utero surgery the week before and things originally appeared to be going well. Then his wife developed an infection, had a fever of 105 and labor had to be induced. I haven't read all the details on it, though, so I might be mistaken. I know the possibility of aborting the fetus was mentioned, which of course the Santorums refused.

Like I've stated before, I don't agree with how they handled the situation but it's really none of my business. I also think it's weird that people will put heads of state in repose for a week before transporting them to a grave site. I find open casket funerals to be a bit strange, too. Why would you want someone's cold, lifeless body to be the last memory you have of them? But people are weird. They're particularly weird about two things - children and death. One gives them a small hope of immortality, while the other reminds them just how small that hope really is. Put them together and people tend to lose their shit, to put it bluntly. What they did didn't hurt anybody. I don't think their kids are any worse off than any other kids of fundamentalist parents for this (in fact they're at least learning to work through grief as a family instead of being shut out of the process as parents often do).

He took it home to the kids to play with and to use as a corpse prop to take personal pictures. My point is I believe this is across the "weird" line, grieving or not.
