I think of the two I would lean towards a Prius. They seem to have a good track record. A little cheaper too I think.

what was the total production cost per vehicle?
EDIT : just did some searching- it actual production cost is estimated at around 81,000 per car for a loss of 591,115,735.

A daily commuter electric car really needs to go a minium of 50 miles on a charge to be viable. It also should fully charge in 30 minutes max
This is why I think hybrids of some kind with small engines are superior
