The Volt took over a decade to come up with and has nothing to do with the government purchase.

Also Koneg's claims are stupid.

The ones who have a reason do dislike the idea are the Exxons and Cheverons of the world, invested deeply in oil financially. Oil to them is just cash they don't have yet, they feed off our addiction. Alternative fuels that don't transfer American wealth to the middle east is good for all of us, unfortunately the right has some of you convinced otherwise.

See as how it's 'our land' they are drilling on and we are subsidizing said infrastructure, I think Exxon or Chevron or * should shut their whore mouths and just be happy we pay them so well to rape the world...

General Motors says it will add 2,500 jobs at a Detroit-area plant that now makes the Chevrolet Volt electric car.
The company plans to invest $69 million in the Detroit-Hamtramck (Ham-TRAM-ick) factory and add two shifts of workers so the plant can make the new Chevrolet Malibu midsize car and the Impala large sedan.
Not all the jobs will be new hires. GM has about 1,300 laid-off workers waiting to be recalled in the U.S.
GM announced on May 10 that it would create or keep about 4,000 jobs by investing $2 billion in 17 factories in eight states.
So far the company has announced expansion plans in Bowling Green, Ky., Toledo, Ohio, and Flint and Bay City, Mich.

Yeah, what a disaster! Nothing the right hates more than good, solid, middle class union jobs being created.

The horror!

I would love for everyone in Topeka to get a slice of pizza, but I wouldn't force taxpayers nationwide to pay $600 per slice. Just because something is good doesn't mean it's a good value. It also doesn't mean you have the right to make other people foot the bill for something that only benefits a few people.

Those jobs benefit the entire economy. As do the jobs created by those jobs. As does the fact that folks getting a paycheck, rather than getting unemployment are a net positive.

If corporatism/fascism were good for the economy, we would be up to our eyeballs in wealth and have a roaring economy.

Green jobs are a scam. People just want real jobs.

Shows how much the democrats are slaves to the envirowackos.

Oh I'm sure those jobs will cure cancer and bring peace to the Middle East. They're still too expensive, and they disproportionately benefit very few people. The people who are footing the bill would be much better off if they'd just kept their money. In fact pretty much everyone would except the few who got the jobs.

And on top of that, there's the dirty secret that libtards love to ignore. Every job created/saved at GM is a job lost at another car company that would have picked up the business if GM had been allowed to die like it deserved.

You know initial sales of the prius were only 5.6k in America.

Failure.
