Ah, the cops had him under surveillance and ran a little sting operation. Good for your friend anyway, because they'll let him off with a much lesser charge just so long as he snitches on his supplier.
You know what they do to snitches in prison though....

He can't be just a dumbass - someone had to set him up!
It's not like the cop couldn't smell the car from 2 blocks away or anything.

IF he was set up, and it was a mutual acquaintance who did it there is a good chance your on the list.
Cops want everything they can get out of someone, and a 10 lb bust ain't that big of a deal. I'd imagine they have more in the works.

You are assuming that the vac sealing was proper. I'm not.
But beyond that, it's much more likely that your friend just caught a bad break then some giant conspiracy to entrap him.
If he had been under surveillance and was set up, the way the bust went down doesn't make a heck of a lot sense.
Unless, of course, you've seen too many movies.
