pretext stops are legal in Indiana. They can literally pull you over for suspicion of a broken taillight.
That's not my preference. BUT when someone is caught with ten pounds of contraband why do you care what the reason for the stop was? Isn't it good the cops did their job? Isn't it good that someone committing a felony got caught? Isn't it good that illegal substances were kept off the street?

I was pulled over with weed in my car once - I had a headlight out. I had a couple dubs in my in my glove box where I also happen to keep my registration and other papers.
I escaped without so much as a moving violation. Everything was concealed and odor was contained. Plus I of course opened the windows. If the police have no reason to suspect you of anything than there is no problem. I think mostly dumb people get busted, and within that group are many if not most people who sell, from what I've seen.

the bags were tied inside a latex glove tucked into the back of a compartment within the glove box separate separate from my driving information. When I opened the glove box to retrieve my registration and insurance, no odor was emitted and nothing suspicious was in sight but the officer was definitely looking. I had total confidence the entire time because my bases were covered.

He was set up. it was 3 unmarked squad cars who pulled him over 5 min before he dropped it off.
he took a diff route than usual too. They turned the lights on, pulled him over and first thing they said was outta the car.
