Cities should own teams. look at Green Bay-why not?
I like the idea of that but it would kill small market teams. So ultimately I'd have to be against it.
I'm curious why you think the economics of small market teams would change if the ownership switched from private to public?

Small market teams are already having trouble competing. Small cities are struggling to keep cops on the street.

Small market teams are already at a disadvantage while the teams are privately owned. I don't see why the disadvantage would be worse if the teams were publicly owned.

We do not need to speak generically, we can pinpoint our argument: which small cities and teams are you specifically speaking about, Tyche? After we determine this, then we can do a cost-benefit analysis.

I am not going to go look up every team in every market in every sport to compile a list for you. Since I am in the majority then the onus is on you to convince me to your side to build up your numbers. I look at basketball and the same 6 large market teams dominate most of the championships. Same with baseball.

Some do, some don't. If the owner of a small market team is rich it has a serious advantage over other small market teams. Cities are never going to be "rich" so they will always be at a disadvantage over a privately owned team with huge pockets which is at least a possibility.

Local government here is very bad. They shouldve done their research and learned the realities by visiting other cities

Name one team. We will take the argument from there. Forget Onus. You made a claim and cited a reason. Now we will correspond your fact pattern with reality. If we can generalize your fact pattern to other similar cities, then you have persuaded me. Im just keeping you honest, you know- make sure you are not just talking out yo ass.

Its so dumb. They left because govenment didnt buy them a new stadium
Years later after the government finally wakes up and they talk to a number of teams about moving they find out that all NBA teams also want new modern stadiums.
What kind of idiots are in charge here in Seattle?
