 you think America's missile defense system actually works? China could easily churn out 10,000s of missiles and launch all of them. You'd have to get lucky and find the ones with the warheads.

And China could easily wipe America off the face of the earth. There'd still be a few million Chinese people left, and tens of millions outside of China. Not to mention that a nuclear attack on Southwest China is a nuclear attack on India and Southeast Asia, as 70-80% of the water they drink and use for agriculture originates from there. That, and any airborne contamination will make its way to South Korea and Japan within a few weeks if not days through the atmosphere, and actually deposit in California if they're light enough.

We firebombed the hell out of japan and then we nuked them. It was hopeless for japan.
We have a lot more firepower this time. No chance for china in a war.
Japan didn't have nukes when they got nuked, nor the resources to mount a respectable defense or project naval/air power. That, and Tokyo was full of wooden buildings and lies flat and crowded on lowlands.

We could easily destroy the lives of 800 million people in a few seonds using our submarines that are hanging out by china this minute.
Last I checked, best US missle defense can block 1 out of 3 ICBMs. When you got 200 of them flying toward you, thats not really comforting...there is no winners in nuclear war, if there were, mushroom clouds would be every day thing.
and China is friggin HUGE and sparsely populated plus they hold little regard to human life, on other hand you guys would freak out after first bomb.

Firebombing, for obvious reasons, is not going to work well on China.
As for the last line, America has severely declined intellectually since then.
