You can't take the moral high ground and at the same time insult a person against the TOS on these boards with no penalty. As a little demonstration of social behavior, here are some responses from the illustrious VN posters in this thread, LOL:

1) "They probably appealed you just because you're an idiot and they are tired of your moronic VN posts."

2) "I bet I'm older than you by a good bit, and I think you act like an ass in /region."

3) Somewhere back there I was insulted by a VN GM too, LOL.

And these are just in the last 5 posts I can go back to, as I don't care what people say about me, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. You think I'm dumb and you comment. I think most albs are dumb in-game so I comment. You are in the same boat as I am, with the exception of you think you are taking a moral high ground.

You are not taking a moral high ground in any way and the only thing that seperates these two similar examples, is everyone I criticize in game can come here and bash me without any ramifications and even GMs can jump in with their digs and we all act like tough guys and bash the really bad person Shadora because he is an evil man and he says bad things about us, so lets all gang up on him and act tough and have a good laugh at his expense because we have a vandeta against him because he acts like we are acting on VNs when we don't like someone or agree with what they do.

The above paragragh will go over most of your heads, but it is an exact summary of your behavior. It's a circular equation and I don't expect any of you to understand it or admit to it, but it's reality.

I don't care what people think of me, but I find it funny that people criticize others for exactly what they themselves do, and therefore criticize themselves without knowing it.

If you don't care, then why are you defending your actions and attempting to justify your behavior? I have a moral high ground all my own. You attempt to make it more complex than what it is. There's nothing deep or noble about your charade. You got caught and now you are whining. Case closed.

If you can't see the BIG difference between being an ass in a global chat of a video game and constantly posting moronic dribble in a discussion forum(thus eliciting responses) you're dumber than I thought. If you are so old maybe it's time to grow up?

TBH; I can't stand people constantly in region who are either:
A) Whining/Complaining (e.g. "OMG <realm x> is everywhere! They need to stop being bad."
B) Being an idiot (e.g. Original poster of this topic)

And I really hate the "Put your filter on" "Ignore that person". Like... I remember back in the day I had like... 3 people on ignore maybe. Now on my main it's almost full.
There's not something wrong with Mythic; for punishing people who are being asshats even with filter and ignore commands. There's DEFINITELY something wrong with the player base in DAoC; not everyone, but I don't understand the people who get off getting in region being an idiot... I understand it's mostly pussies in real life who aren't able to speak their mind and instead vent through a video game... but really?
Are we having that big of issue just playing the game and leaving the annoying behind?

Anyways. GJ mythic for giving you some time off, poor job mythic for not removing /region /lfg /advice all together.

I have no problem with someone getting banned for harrassing someone else, even if they ask them to stop. Being an idiot however, is too subjective to ban someone for.

There are a lot of idiots playing DAOC and irl. I see them all the time. Being an idiot is not enough to suspend someone for as they may think they are being reasonable.

1) My argument is that Mythic is biased against English speaking players and they are more likely to get suspended because GMs understand the text the person is typing.

2) Mythic unfairly puts English speaking people at a disadvantage when it comes to being suspended for bad language because they often cannot understand what led a person to say something in return and then the English speaking person gets suspended instead. Isn't there a policy against provoking someone?

Anyway you look at it, it is discrimination.

Another thing is why can someone just put an appeal in and then Mythic staff looks back at everything that person said in that particular log in? That favors those who play short periods of time. If you looked back into hours of text someone typed, you would find something objectionable for sure.

The whole process is unfair.

All you have to do as a player is just /appeal everyone who says anything remotely objectionable with your main, and then your bot accounts and that person will have Mythic look at everything they said in that entire session. It's total garbage, but that is what I will be doing. I will just /appeal everyone who I object to in game or irl.

The funny thing about Mythic's policy is you lose nothing by /appealing someone as it is a judegment call if something someone said is offensive or not, and therefore you don't have to prove that what that person said is objectionable. That's how poor their policy is.

The guidelines are so vague and left to interpretation for each GM that anything can be considered objectionable because there is no reasonable person standard as there is in our common law system.

Mythic threw out 3,000 years of legal progress by having some GM determine what is objectionable or not on a case by case basis without equating the appealer's original complaint to the words in chat that they found offensive. Instead, the GM goes through all the text that he can understand (not foreign mind you) and if he sees anything objectionable, even hours ago, then that person will be suspended.

I'm sure some of you have no idea why this is not right. Something that is objectionable is objectionable to people that appealed them. If no one appealed them earlier, then everything from that time and before should not be considered because no one in game (the reasonable persons in the game) did not think what that person said was unreasonable. Mythic essentially is determining what is reasonable and not reasonable themselves (one GM as opposed to hundreds in game). This is not right.

LOL! 3000 years of legal history???!!! First our legal customs dont go back more than 800 years with the signing of the Magna Carta. Even then, the relevant history is about 250 years old.

Secondly, legal precedent holds no sway in this game since this is their property, and they can do whatever they want.

I wanted to read what you wrote; but this was like right up top... which made me LoL and not want to read the rest.
To be perfectly honest; I rarely see Euros in /region/sdvice/lfg apart from telling people where the "fufu's" are or telling people what's going down, I'm fully bilingual (French) and tbh I rarely see anything inappropriate or stupid... unlike your comments that got you the ban stick.
I see A LOT of english based players being idiots in region; talking too much, trying to instigate online arguments, cussing, telling me who's "bad" and how big their epeen is... not saying that it's only the english players who are retarded in region (also am biased because i don't play late hours anymore, so I don't get exposed to that many euros) but we stick out a bit more.

Wrong. There is no moral equivalency between VN boards and DAoC. What a ridiculous argument.
You know just about any comment, good-bad-right-wrong is regularly mocked, ridiculed, twisted
or otherwise made fun of on these boards. To expect anything less *is* being an idiot.

And trying to frame this argument as discrimination, sorry, I LMAO @ U.
You know what you do is wrong. Stop trying to justify it.
You sound like a whiny used up whore who wants 'daddy' to tell her she's still pretty.
