The other thing is, I don't know how much it is worth it to farm these guys anymore, since dragon gear is quite cheap on all realms. Zahur's ring is always very rare and you could potentially find one of these from the Afrits. But.. I don't think the updated ML10 stuff can drop from the Afrits? Or can they? Cuz if they can then I better get out there.

ML10 stuff wont drop from Afrits. And while there aren't really any major expensive items to be farmed from them or at least none that I can think of, you can still make decent plats by putting it on merchant, salvaging etc. especially if you are new to the realm and are stuck finding ways to make some money.

yeah its definitely not a bad way to make cash especially with someone who can salvage. I think I remember making about 10p an hour or something along those lines, unless I got some good item drops. But back then you could sell a Ring of the Torrent or Cyclone bracer for a few plat, same with Stardrop, and those showed up fairly often.

On mid I do the red Afrits and the oj/red Elementals very easily with my BA spec BD and Healer haste bot. I use CL buffs for for the bd which is fine for specs since the dps is mostly the pets and dots, spec line pet buffs and bases from the bot with haste and red celerity it is quite quick.

The odd thing about the coding is that the Afrits never aggro the healer. The dancing weapons from the Afrit is annoying but easily manageable with bot heals. For the blue pops after killing the Elementals i kill one wit the bd and sicc the pets on the other.

Chanter/Druid/ELD or Light Ment. Run up and put the (ML9) pet on him for added damage but you're caster is going to drag agro. Nuke until you draw weapon agro and then alt+tab to the other caster and rinse/repeat. You can use the pet the pet to peal some of the weapons off you or the druid but shouldn't take more than 2-3 minutes, 4 at a stretch. There's a loop in 'Land of Atum' of about 6-7, if you're the only one out there you can pretty much constantly run and pull. If another group is out there you'll have some down time. More than that, move to another area.

Alb works well with sorc/cabi/cleric and mid RM/SM/Shammy.

A focus myth is nice/helps.

I've been away from the game for a couple years now.

They might have changed the grape afrits and tactic so take my advice with a grain of salt plz.

I farmed it with shambot and sm/sally. ml9 ability as well. pretty easy once u get it down. Have bot/sm stay at in decent range and send ml9 sally in and attack 1 of the 3 dudes standing next to the master afrit. You HAVE to switch sallys aggro between the 3 for 2 reasons. To keep aggro because sham will be healing a bit and as well it's very nice to keep them about the same health. Another biggie is to make sure u have cure poison because the mob puts a nasty dot on you sally. Now initally u were close enough to the mobs to c their health bars. Very important that when the last of the little 3 dudes dies u put sally on stay and u and bot get outta dodge fast. pan camera back and sick sally on boss asap otherwise u get auto aggro. Once sally has aggro u and bot stuck to you get in max range to cast your damage shield buff on pet. Keep moving in until u can finally cast it on pet, but no closer. This way you wont get turned into a lion thing and wont get aggro as well. Then just watch for roaming mobs and make sure to heal pet, cast cure poison on pet, and keep damage buff up.

Or you can use a CT to gather up the agro and kill one by one, this way means you don't feel like you are in a benny hill chase sequence. Something else that I used that might be helpful to newbies is to set a groundtarget with the healing toon so you can stay at max range for healing and curing poison. Apart from that it's easy with ml9 sally, even easier in mid as the SM can have focus shield as well.

lol. For the record ToA is pretty damn easy now, its probably around what it should be. Had to level a bunch of Arties on my Hero last night, it took about 2 hours with a Hero and a Bot killing oj mobs in Sheeroe Hills. They all level at the same speed now pretty much, and get about 7-10% XP per kill, depending, well obviously on the experience you get per kill, so depends where you fight (xp bonus), camp bonus, and rested bonus. Hero's are certainly not anywhere near the fastest way to take down an OJ mob, so if instead I was using a VW, Ranger, or Vamp, or simply got into a ML9 focus caster group, it would go really really fast.

Actually you dont farm afrits for toa related stuff: just for plat. Farming afrits won't get you directly the stuff you need for ML's/artis, but it will pad ur bank account to buy BP/glass from someone who can do it for you.

If you have temp'd rvr toons though they can just farm BP in rvr and get any toa stuff you need.
