I actually like the patch, also it is the first patch in YEARS that i see RM changes that is not something all mid casters get

I dont think one thing in it is bad for the game tbh. All changes are for the better. Also fixing some years old bugs is very very nice. I am happy they actually fix them and not just go "meh"

EDIT: Only thing is mentalists getting a SW and RM not getting Warlord and SW ^^ But then again convoker is almost a must just becuse of that ability alone, and it is in a line that is not their primary nuke line. So good change even thou i am a bit jealous.

Jocke, but the SW ability is baseline, so it doesn't matter that it's in an unpopular line. I think that's one obvious gripe with this ability that it is essentially free, on top of Warlord. (Which has a nice AE Pet scare, Warguard, and other niceness.)


On the Silence cloak nerf. I personally think it's a mistake to outright remove it rather then just shorten it by 2-3 seconds and make it Purgeable, but for the love of all that is holy, let's at least make it a useful /use ability! The proposed 30% Tier 2 resists for 20s is quite frankly a terrible /use.

If we absolutely have to remove the Silence, then at least change the /use to a ~20% magic damage-to-health conversion buff with ~20s duration. This way Archer damage is also affected, which IMO is needed since the Silence also affected Archers. This would also leave the ML10 Cloak's /use as a powerful and unique /use ability all around.

Still this doesn't remotely compare to Silence, and will have relatively little effect on enemy casters turning you into a smoldering pile of ashes in seconds, which personally I think is a conveniently ignored balance issue in this game. Silence was also a very powerful tool to use against Archers in solo & small-scale, and losing this tool will IMO invariably lead to the adjustment of some Archer escape tools down the road.

Archers, WLs, and MoC (especially MoC+LT) are good reasons why Silence should stay the way it is aside from allowing it to be Purged. Removing this counter to these classes & abilities will lead to imbalances that surely will have to be addressed as well.

Sure replace RM's ability to be Convoker with Warlord, and then give them a baseline warp.

Does it really make it a #1 caster if you still require a Chanter there to debuff for you, and an Eld to provide a proper nearsight and spec stat debuffs (which are on different timers for Eld only)?

Impressive, you have to feel for the devs on this game. Anyone who has been around a while will remember the memory leak abyss this game was, it still leaks but the bottomless pit of memory draining horribleness is not present. Imagine what it is like to add anything to the code base for this game....as a developer I shudder for these folks, they could probably spend a year just closing up references no longer in use.

Well ya since this is hib we're talking about here. I guess it'd be 3rd or 4th on Alb/Mid still.

In their defense mentalists have been a terrible class for a long time now. But this class is now a very well rounded class that would, imo, be wanted in any group. Demez, single target mez, dots, lullaby, Nearsight, among other goodies. Very high utility class now adding SW into the mix.


All we need now is a 2minute buff called Farsight

Ah damn, i did not realise it was baseline. Thats mad but still a good change none the less.
