Yeah for like 2 weeks in jr high. I think they're their own nation in the same way Afrika Baambaata and the Zulu Nation are their own Nation...i.e. not at all
They have territory they protect with a vengence, they have a hierachy that rules them, they are politically influencial, and they are militant... sounds like a nation to me. They are just as recognized as a nation as many of the viking "nations" were.

the vikings never had any nations, they did have kingdoms...and kingdoms were the precursors to nations...
so you're wrong here based on your definition of nation. No gang has a nation (that I'm aware of) and no vikings ever had a nation.

I grew up in Madera/Fresno but am still here.

Never been in a gang, but there were gangs in my neighborhood growing up and at my high school. I generally tried to avoid gangbangers, I personally think they are crap.
