Working where I did, I had close contact with every major street and prison gang in California.
Growing up in Fresno I had to deal with a few gangs when I was a kid.

Seen them a lot where I came from and have seen a few over here in California. Never been messed with though

Had to deal with them a bit growing up (lived in a very latino area of WA) but nothing too serious. They mostly just beat each other up all the time.

Knew a ton of them growing up in S Tacoma. They'd do drive-bys on the house next door (which was a crackhouse). Went to school with lots of them.
Was never in one, got asked a couple of times. They were always cool with me but I steered largely clear.
