The Oatmeal Butterscotch paired with a Snickerdoodle
turned my cynical penis into a happy vagina
Then after an Oatmeal Cranberry and Double Chocolate,
it made my new vagina spontaneously sing the Trolololo Song in an elevator.

Don't people read the OP?
the kids, and families all have a long term relationship. Walking away from this/expelling the family because of their problems especially when kids are involved sends the wrong message to everyone else in your circle of friendships and between parents/kids.
I think its great that they have friends like you who DON'T run away from problems to this degree.
Stay supporting this guy, but be very clear that if he continues to fuel the fire, you (and others) can no longer help him.
Not getting involved is NOT the same as walking away. You can support the father and the kids by being there for them, but going to deal with the asshole, trying to deal with the wife etc is getting involved and that isnt going to help anyone.
Does that help clarify the difference?

This thread begs the question: do the "women" of ACF use a funnel to get that much sand in their vagina or do they just slide around the beach like an angry Roomba? -deadcactus-

Stay out of it. Don't get sucked into it. Be thankful that this is a bullet you can avoid. And yes, that means don't allow your wife to drag you or her into it.
Good luck
This.
Also, Dave has little or nothing to lose by trying to keep the family together. In a divorce, the wife will get the kids, the house, and pretty much everything Dave makes until those kids are 18... so... what has he got to lose except a piece of ass, which it doesn't sound like he's been getting anyway...
Either way... stay out of it.

Obviously dealing with the asshole/wife is a moot point.
And I'm not sure what you have read of my posts that would require you to 'clarify' the difference.
But at least you got +1 on your post count.

I know this should be obvious but do not get Dave drunk where he is able to in any way break his wedding vows. If he hasn't done anything wrong, he can file for divorce and likely get primary (if not full) custody of their children. If he starts going out drinking, acting crazy, becoming an adulterer, he will lose ground and sympathy from a court. This will be important, especially if he's the primary bread winner and she comes for half his retirement.
Dude better get his head screwed on straight with a quickness.

arrange for the "wife" to have an accident where she perishes from this cruel world. ensure dave takes out a fat life insurance policy, they probably wont cover suicides so might think easy money if she ODs herself again. then said "accident" happens. hes sad for a little while but the money will sooth all worries in time especially since hes way better off without the whore anyway. find a new woman.

I would make a point of making yourself available to help with the kids to the extent that it will not be a burden to you.
Aside from that I would just be available as a sounding board for the guy. Getting more involved than that will more than likely lead to unwelcome drama.
