Regular does not mean leaded. Regular is in reference to the size of the octane.
When unleaded gas was first introduced, however, people referred to the then-choices as "Regular, High Test (premium) and Unleaded".

And I remember it from being a kid but I don't think that they had "leaded" gas when I got my license.

I want to throw jonus off the front of the boat at full speed so we run him over!
then with all the empties we can say he was drunk and fell!

Thing is regular gas was 89 octane and unleaded was 87 -- High Test was anywhere from 91 to 94 depending on which gas station you went to.

Do not ever remember leaded gas... I think the lowest I remember gas prices was hovering around $1
