When I was cycling at night (8 months of stupid shifts so I was on the road at 2-3am) I had a helmet, a blinky rear light, wide reflector on the saddlebag, a blinky front light and the normal reflectors on the bike.
Both times I got hit were daytime, once on a clear sunny afternoon. (Neither were serious but both were hit and run of course.)

I would file a report, but there's really nothing to tell them. I don't know who hit me, where I was, what kind of car it was, or anything like that. I did go to the hospital, spent a night in the ER. Have 2 follow up appointments this week and another ct scan on friday.
You know the route you typically take home... finding a blood splat should be easy enough... if there's surveillance anywhere they should be able to look into it.
Report it.

Why wouldn't you report it or care about finding out who hit you? Is there more to the story you aren't sharing?

i just realized you're going to have to take your piercing out. they probably won't even let you keep bioplast in. doctors are assholes like that. i woke up once and they had removed my bioplast stuff before the operation started.  i refused to do it and they finally relented so i thought i won.
