i just realized you're going to have to take your piercing out.  they probably won't even let you keep bioplast in. doctors are assholes like that. i woke up once and they had removed my bioplast stuff before the operation started.  i refused to do it and they finally relented so i thought i won.
Yeah, had to take my bridge out for the ct scan, and lost my septum retainer in the crash as well. Kinda a bummer.

Ouch
Yeah, helmets are a big deal. I recently bought myself a small motorcycle for commuting (got sick of train issues). Before I bought the bike I went to a big motorcycle show in January. One of the big reasons I wanted to hit that show was to listen to various professionals. One of them was Bruce Porter of Arai Helmets, what he had to say was very educational. You can find him on Youtube.

Glad you're at least sort of doing ok.
I agree...if someone DID hit you, this could be your chance to find who was responsible and make them pay for your surgery and associated treatment.
