Aziz! is very nice when you've just joined the map for the first time. In a SP game you don't join in the dark. in MP you can and that's a nasty greeting most likely.

Once you're established it's a crutch IMO.

I don't use it much, but where I am usually is either underground, or on my tiny, completely lit island. Not a big issue for me.

For the record, I'm all for a new map when the game officially launches. (Though I'm going to miss my epic island. )

---

In my SP game I rebuilt my EMP and polished up that area. Added a bit more to prevent the same accident. User error now should be the only way to reproduce it, not game mechanics.

true about that, but if we light up the spawn area first thing we won't have that problem if people join later

Exactly what I was thinking. make a safe-ish spot, light it and provide a bed in case nobody else is on, you can just sleep night away.

I wonder if that interactive map we had when I built my glass dome will work when the game fully releases, I loved that map, it was awesome.

As long as the developer updates their plugin it would work. With all this pre crap they aren't working on 1.9 until it is official which isn't going to happen until release from the looks of it.

As for Aziz! ... yeah it has been getting a lot of use. I did it as a way for the users to control day instead of having to ask us all the time but it has turned into a crutch hasn't it?

*sigh*

So I tried uninstalled java completely. Tried reinstalling it with both 32 bit and 64 bit. My processor can support 64 bit but I only have windows 7 32 bit.

Minecrafttill gives me this error either way after playing for a bit.

Out of memory!

Minecraft has run out of memory.

This could be caused by a bug in the game or by Java Virtual Machine not being allocated enough memory. If you are playing in a web browser, try downloading the game and playing it offline.

To prevent level corruption, the current game has quit.

Please restart the game.

I wanted to try running Minecraft in the browser but it's not even letting me start the game. I get that error after playing for a bit whether I start the game normally or use the bat file steel recommended. Using anywhere from 1024mb/512mb max/min on the bat to 512/256. Anything higher than like 1100/900 doesn't start the game and says some error about memory amount being too high.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm really liking this game but it's hard to play. It hasn't happened yet (knock on wood) but I'm worried I'll be fighting something and it will crash and I'll die, having no idea where my corpse is. The having no idea where my corpse is happened today... I was doing really good, found this awesome abandoned mine with tons of coal and iron, then turned a corner and got blown up by a green dude before I could even do anything. Bye bye iron, weapons, as well as my 54 arrows I made.

I have a theory that it might be running out of memory after exploring and moving around a bit. I'm guessing as I move across the world to different areas it's using more memory to load everywhere I've been? I don't think that even matters if it's true but thought I'd just throw it in there.

I'm fine with Aziz! and I use it when I need to. I don't want to have to worry about creepers taking out my hard work any more than I already worry about them while exploring caves.

In single player at least I can sleep in my bed at night to make it day.

How is Aziz! any different?
