not if you put fencing in! I mean you can't leave the end unless you die. so you would want to go in with all that you need, fencing for a chicken coop, eggs to start the chickens. building material prefereably obsidian, glass for some nice windows, lots of iron and wood. maybe some trees, dirt to grow trees on.
and see how long you can make it in the end without dying.
oh yeah and enchanting table and books to get silk whatever for picks so you can harvest whitestone.

Shows the Industrial Craft mod.
The pipes are put of the Buildcraft mod (not used it much yet).
Basically you make complex machines using multiple energy sources and storage devices for the energy.
Also all the junk stuff from normal minecraft becomes useful (like sapplings...you can turn them into biofuel).
Heck I barely scratched the surface of this game.

Hmm, I can't get on our server and this is after some Java update tonight.
Coincidence or is there an issue with the server tonight?
Anyways, I should be going to bed anyways, but...

It is the connection timing out. I just checked and it is happening to me. I restarted the server but I am thinking it is mc.net not responding to the user validation in a timely manner.
EDIT: Yeah skimmed back on the log and everyone started timing out around 6-7p Pacific. That is probably what it is.

Heh so I managed to get in an hour and a half before I headed out for work, I achieved sooooooo much. Sadly none of it good! I managed to get myself blown up right after moving my bed in my freshly finished house (finally got it the way I wanted) did some minor landscaping around the outside of my house in my safety bubble behind my fencing while waiting for nightfall to snooze in my newly placed bed (duh note to self, just make two beds!), got blown up by a creeper... zooooom all the way back to old world and original spawn.
Took me some time to find my way back to my house, initially used mithans portal and followed the sign and really long tunnel to the new continent, somehow managed to die before getting out of the nether lol, so took Steels portal and rail line.. eventually got to my house again and started puttering. Yay for lava.
Damn lava to hell!
So I had grabbed my buckets of lava to get my own portal up and running, as I was going down my ladder from my attic and storage chest... can you guess what I did? Yupp, my genius self right clicked on my ladder -- while holding a bucket of lava. Naturally in the process of trying to stop the building inferno I died, burnt to a crisp... only to discover my bed had once again gone up in the flames and I was back at spawn with my house being devoured by lava from the inside out.
Damn it.
