Mcpatcher from last time still works, and Misa has updated her textures. I've already made my tweaks.

Can download Misas's from http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/69354-64x18pre-release-misas-realistic-2nd-update-10sep/

Figured I was better off waiting since this was a prerelease and all, lol. Seems pretty stable though except for the weirdness with forges sometimes.

And animal spawns are weird. Pretty much nonexistent in an area you've explored. Maybe the range has been changed or something.

Well definitely something. =/

Loaded up my grinder world and monsters are spawning fine in my grinder (which I lowered to two high instead of three. Can't have those enderpricks taking it apart on me.)

Yeah I think they said something about animals not respawning so I think you have to run into them and they won't just pop around you. I've worked close to my base and nothing but monsters has spawned and even those were kind of sparse but if I wandered a bit I would run into huge herds of cows or at night a crapton of nasties would show up.

I went for a sail in my grinder world, new terrain has ocean level one block lower. Amusing.

It gave me a nice little project though, now I have a little canal, and a couple thin mountains to chop.

I dug my old area to make a fake ocean for controlling spawns, now they're different. New terrain seems to be ocean around my place. A lot of work almost for nothing. One thing I've noticed I that ocean is DEEP. Very cool. Even better since I have this at the edge of it, new area to work on unless the real 1.8 changes terrain gen.

My water base is on the other side of those hills, a couple mins by boat and through my canal. In the other direction is ocean biome.

something is really wrong with animal spawners

was walking through a Pine forest and saw literally 40 wolves appear most in the same place

sometimes animals spawn on the very top of trees in the leaves and are stuck there but do not take suffocate damage they just kind of slide around

Yeah I am loving the new terrain generation. Real lakes and oceans... haven't hit a river yet but they are supposed to be pretty nice too. The biomes are a lot better defined and larger too. Mountains are 'holy crap' and have valleys and stuff. Forests are so thick you can barely get through them. Will love to rock it in SMP with others.

How do you find the seed you entered for a world? Or can you.

In 1.7 just press F3 and it lists the seed. If you put in an alphanumeric seed it'll display as a number.

For 1.7.3 and earlier there's a web util to do it ( http://mc.42nex.us/ ), and a few plugins do it too.

I've found a couple rivers in the world I was originally testing in. Also the pine forest biome whatever that one is, and swamp, both very nice. Two towns too. Nobody has found snow yet, apparently it's not in the pre-1.8
