I wonder if that big swastica tattoo on his face makes it more difficult to pass parole hearings?
Well the swastika itself is actually a positive symbol in Eastern Philosophy, the National Socialist movement didn't adopt it to say "We are evil bastards". That's what Hollywood did to it.
There are people who believe that if it faces counterclockwise it's good, if it faces clockwise it's evil. This actually isn't true but Manson might have believed it and tried to tattoo it counterclockwise on his face to attract positive vibes.
Unfortunately he was looking at a mirror while doing it and it ended up inverted.

You are mistaken, the first marking he did was a "Cross" on his forehead, after spending time in prison during the trial he joined the Neo Nazi's and changed the Cross to a Swastika.
Edit Also the Swastika is a Buddist symbol, the Nazi party reversed it, and that became their symbol.

The first "Cross" was scratched into his forehead using his thumb nail, the reason it appeared to look like a "x" was because he was held in 5 point restraints 24 hours aday.
