I can't think of a class that levels slowly nowadays.

Nothing levels slowly, but DK is still the fastest hands down.
Dual spec blood for elite quests and there are no group quests that you cannot do all the way to 80.
Spec frost for normal questing and you will tear through mobs as fast a rogue, but travel faster.
Plus, if you play a DK, then you won't want to play any of those alts anymore

Well i would have to agree with DK sine you start at level 55...
I just leveled a Shaman it went very fast, I do a lot of damage and can heal myself, virtually no down time.

I'll roll a DK when I hit 55 on my rogue and see which one I like better. Thanks everybody.
Why does DK travel faster though?

Unholy presence makes you run faster and On a Pale Horse makes your mounted speed faster.

The short answer is, of course, the dk because it starts at level 55 :-)
Starting at level 1, I don't know which is fastest, although it may be the mage, owing to the portals.
From about level 60, however, I've found the shaman to be incredible fast (and I speak as someone who has, in the past, been quite critical of this class). This class takes down ordinary mobs with astonishing efficiency, and there is no non-instance group quest that I have been unable to solo with it since level 60.

Lava Burst at a lower level made Ele Shaman quite fun. I enjoyed it, and did 60-80 in record time on that toon..

Are mobs getting harder in cata? Cuz I made a druid today and my rake two shots mobs when crusader pops...

I read a blue post that said something along the lines of "Cataclysm mobs will have the ability to kill you quickly if you aren't paying attention".
