This is a commercial decision. Pure and simple.

I have a mage as my main toon and I still think this is complete crap. My lower toons spends hours of game play running from one place to another. I think that having a Dranei and having to basically go through hell to get to SW just to be at a capital city is the worst mistake blizz ever made. Druid's have port to moonglade but why the hell would you, so you can spend 30 mins trying to get back to civilization. Blizzard has made it so that no one wants to go to parts of this game. Silithus is one of them isolated, crap loot and boring quests.

Now WoW is still fun to play. . . on my mage, but making it so that mages have to port you everywhere is annoying. I hate getting hit up for ports constantly when I am focused on something, I feel obligated to stop and port them cause Blizzard has made this so horrible for them.

There ARE ways of getting around this so that people will not use the portals all the time. why not let Mages or Inscriptionists either or create Scroll of Teleportaion: Dalran or what ever city. They would be sellable in the AH, you could make them unusable until the character had been to the city for the first time. There! everyone gets their ports, Blizzard keeps ppl from flitting about as you would make it somewhat expensive to make and sell these and mages wouldn't be stopped every 30 seconds getting asked for portals. Come on Blizz use your noodle you are a bright group.

I don't need a straight port from city to city, but there definitely needs to be more faster travel options... like more boat routes or something similar to the tram. I don't like that SW is the hub for everything now.

Getting to or from Dalaran or Shatt is a pain now - especially if you're in Darnassus or anywhere in Kalimdor.

LOL are you serious! The cost and time of all that just to get to a city that there is no purpose in going to! Come one "Think" BEFORE you speak.

I'm trying to make sense of this sentence with the typo in it and I just can not do it.

Dalaran Ring is 8,500 and the Tourney tabard, which I have on 2 characters is a long grind if you haven't started that stuff yet.
