Arrogant blizzard strikes again.
I so hope RIFT and GW2 and Star Wars put such a huge dent in wow's population that everyone on the current staff gets fired

Never mind the fact that in LOTRO there is swift travel options which are VERY convenient. No horse riding for ages on end like the flights in WoW take. And all the looping around for some of the connecting flights is SUCH a waste of time. Would love to smack the hell out of the person that designed those!
Never mind the fact that by taking out the portals, Blizzard just increased my away from keyboard time while I travel to wherever I wanted to go...thereby making me lose interest in playing again. I'm back until my 3 month sub runs out, and then I think I will likely cancel again.
Blizzard does all that it can to drive away the casual players. Boredom is the biggest culprit. Stop boring us, Blizzard!

It's stupid to artificially induce travel delays when you've already invalidated the usefulness of the actual world with the LFG tool.

This could not be further from the truth. The game is custom made for casuals which is why it is so popular. I have never understood the rage (not saying the quoted poster here is raging mind you) following the portals removal. Travel is still quick and simple for anyone that played prior to Wrath. City to city transport, Blasted Lands, and Outlands portals still provide rapid travel if you know where to go. /shrug

Well, I think what they should do is add a portal to allow someone to travel to Shattrath and Dalaran in the main cities as a compromise, since Outlands and Northrend are fast becoming no man's land themselves. Make it one way so that only people who really want to go there can. Taking the boat to Northrend, at least to Howling Fjord sucks because it takes the boat a long time if you miss it.
Kind of sad and ironic that Dalaran's truly become a "city of mages" because only mages can go there easily. Who cares if they have a trainer there, peeps are going to head back to SW/Ogrimmar anyway. At least we can port to Blasted lands if we need to travel to Outland.

I miss portals. I really do. I can get TO Dal and Shatt just fine, it's gett BACK that's annoying when your hearth is down. And I have to re-write all my guides as I go
