Whelp, I'm not sure what the hype is about - the basic game is an almost exact clone of WoW (I would really be happy to never do another leveling quest again, but this is after many years of doing quests like that), and I feel like I'd have to level very high just to get to the point where my character would start getting possibly more interesting than my max level WoW guys. I think it has potential to be pretty interesting and fun, but I'm not really willing to invest that much time at this point just for the possibility.

The engine is definitely not a step up from WoW - at best it's close, and at other times it's a few steps back... I had mobs bouncing all over the place during several encounters, which is very meh.

The PQs are cool I guess, but they don't do much for me. And as another insightful poster pointed out, they have the potential to become very irritating after the initial wave of players moves through.

But that said, I'm very glad others are having fun with it and I wish them the best - if MMOs need anything right now, it's for something to give WoW at least a little competition. We desperately need that. And continued excitement about new games is always good.

Only thing I find annoying so far is the above water / under water camera transition is not well done at all.

Otherwise I keep finding cool little items like when you are running down a road and pull up the map, it is semi-tranparent so you can keep running while looking at it.

Insane lag spikes bordering unplayability, warping mobs... we start to have a better picture of what this game will be at release today

SWTOR: 50 Jedi Shadow (Tank), 50 Sith Marauder (Annihilation).
LOTRO: Lifetime account, playing very casually.
WoW: Both accounts canceled for now.

I haven't had any problems with lag or warping mods. So yes, we do have a "better picture of what this game will be at release today."

According to what I read in chat, I'm not the only one experiencing this, by far. The problem certainly depends off the population of the server you are on, but there is lag, sometimes huge lag.
Now you can wear back your rose colored glasses and pretend everything is fine and release will be lag free

Played every Beta so far, still haven't encountered lag, I have read others have. Been running on Belmont, which always has a queue to get on, so I assume it is "full"

I do get annoyed by the targetting with a mouse sometimes. That and the water transitions (which is real annoying) are my only real complaints. I think it is pretty polished for Beta, but who knows what the end game will be like.

You're such a weirdo. Forget the fact it could be server specific, of course you would do that. I've been on 2 servers off and on throughout all times of the day...and not a bit of lag.. Im dead atm due to lack of heals but there is a hgue invasion going on right now in seastone and the servers fine.

Weirdo, yeah - I guess when you have no valid argument, insults are in order, as usual

I'm on Steamspike, and there have been people complaining about lag since approx. 8am EST, I guess when the week end Americans began to log in massively. I had no problem for a while, and now I'm getting it too, massive lag spikes where your ability happen like 10+ seconds after you press the key, and also mobs warping all over the place, but that I already had before, albeit to lesser extent. There was even a guy who needed 50s to loot a Tin node on the chat.
If I was the only one, I'd have supposed it was due to my location and was specific to me, but I'm not. Not to mention WoW runs flawlessly and smoothly without any hint of lag. So it's definitely the game.
My guess is that they will have exactly the same problem as WoW had at release on the most populated servers once they will open the flood gates and no longer restrict beta access to having a code. Unless they find a magic fix until release... we will see.

quit crying that someone called you a weirdo, weirdo. There is no argument to have. To are making blanket generalizations and trying to imply all teh servers are horrible and you know how release is going to be.

Like others here have said, we've played all week, and even playing now on several servers and we havent had issues. it sounds like your issue is server specific.

But hey Korrigan good job living up to your normal routine of spreading misinformation.

ps: Seastone pvp server is one of the most populated severs and has had no issue.

had some server issues when they first launched, but they were fixed with in hours. Since then I have never had one glitch logging on and I have never been disconnected.

Also no lag issues, no lag during PVP and no lag even during Rifts and invasions.
