Beta download's been going on my comp starting this morning, because I was busy all weekend playing alpha.

Do you know, I've found a lot of old-school-MMO group happy folks out there. Don't know if that's just because it's testing, the game, the player base importing grouping culture or the fact that it's a new MMO and they often tend to start out that way.
The PQs I've run into so far are executed the way I'd always wanted the concept to be implemented (very smooth and easy). They're like (dare I say it?) a 5 minute LK heroic run!
I don't want to keep burbbling on about the good things...I'm still trying to find what's wrong with it (aside from running the same starter zone over and over.)

LOL @ someone saying that skills were useless in AC. TW has nothing wrong with it, in fact the animation on it made it extremely useful in dodging wars, at least from what I found. I've played around with EVERY weapon type in that game and was able to kill with every single one. Including the old drain/harm/lifebolt mages that I thought were so much fun to play.
I love finding little used skill and using them to beat face.

PvP will never be balanced, so just stop trying to find it. You can't balance player skill. It's that simple.
As for PvE, sure there will be min/max specs, but who cares it's PvE.
Yeah, but this is the kicker.. Devs are screwed in todays market. The minute that one build comes out that stands out as THE dps build or THE healing build.. guess what.. everyone will use that build.. the rest will inundate the forums with torches and pitchforks because thier build doesnt do X as well Suzie Rottencrotch's build.
Its a sad state.. but thats the way it is nowadays.
Oh, and to the guy that could kill anyone with any build back in AC1..um, its 2011. You are a little to proud 10 years later. 
J/k .. Al Bundy, Im sure you were great. 
You need to bring it with something hot.. like completing heroic dungeons 10 times a day.

Just reading some posts here and i will be playing in tomorows beta.
Any server or faction i should be playing on? Its my first time playing Rift Beta.
Also i was reading some trash talk about DAOC pvp. I played DAOC for maybe 8 years and its definatly the best game pvp wise imo.

Not sure about servers how many or what types they are going to have up. Somebody out here is sure to know. I know the long term plans are for 3 major types: PvE, PvP and RP (similar to WoW's). I imagine they will have the PvP and PvE server types up, but I'm not sure.
As for faction, pick which ever one appeals to you. The two sides are Guardian and Defiant and neither is the good guy or bad guy, they just have a different approach to solving the rift issue.
I do know on alpha, that long time folks were saying the Defiant side was a little light population-wise for PvP purposes. Doesn't mean that will be the case for Beta5.
There will be scads of new folks coming in (all the pre-orders) and as long as you ask questions with a nomimal level of maturity, there will be plenty of folks happy to help you out with anything you ask that's game-related.

heres a VIP beta key, not sure how many uses are left I have been giving them out, but feel free to use it
goto account.riftgame.com, to create account and put in the code
TJJJ-WTEL-LK9Y-PPPJ-HZNN
that will get you into every remaining beta.
if that one runs out and you really want to test it, pm me and ill give you another code, that I am not openly posting, just incase some guildies or friends want to test it

I don't think I'll do any testing, but when the game launches I might give it a try. Based on your review Sprawl it seems like it would be worth a go.

They're putting up 32 servers this time. Last time it was 16. At least if I remember reading correctly. Last time was 10 American and 6 EU and this time it's 16 for both.
If they have extremely long ques they said they would see about opening even more.
I'm just excited for later today this will be my first beta event for this game and I'm going to bust out of the gate with a Warlock/Necro/??? should be interesting lol
