Because it is as selfish as you can be. At some point in your life I hope you are not so selfish. Making people try and carry a bot *usually BOTS* with their time while you sleep or whatever is just sad. And if we can't manage it we lose because of you. But selfish people don't care and should diaf.

A botter is not a real gamer. Period. But you already know that.

oh... i thought the original question ("If you have to cheat to have fun, wouldn't it be better not to play at all, and play another game instead?" was from the perspective of the person cheating. which is how i answered it.

yes, it's probably better for other people playing the game if cheaters are not around.

i'm not sure what "real gamer" is. so many people have so many definitions. most of which come down to "real gamer = someone who games like me" but tell us, what's your definition of "real gamer"? i'm sure it's much more involved than "someone who doesn't cheat".

and it's always been my assumption that people who cheat/bot aren't worried about being "real gamers". they're just looking to have fun doing something, and their current method involves cheating at a video game.

P.S. I like when people do the "my cheating is okay, it's those other cheaters that are bad! Boo!". Like, AFK botting is cool, account buying/selling selling is cool, and/or gathering botting is cool - but man those other cheaters - they are bad! Boo hiss!

A real gamer is someone who doesn't cheat. That's certainly the most important part.

that can't possibly be the most important part of the definition. at least not to most people.

exibit a. my mom. who's played freecell a few times.

exibit b. the last national winning wow arena team. (shown after the fact to have cheated to get their characters the levels and gear they have)

most people's definitions of "real gamer" wouldn't call my mom the real gamer of that group. becuase most people's defintion of "real gamer" includes things like:

- frequency of gaming
- dedication to gaming
- skill at gaming
- types of games played
- number of games played
- knowledge of games/game trivia

and stuff like that.

also for an example... there's me... i've never botted wow, but i doubt i'm a "real wow player" by anyone's standards. i started playing after litch king came out. i have one charcater. i'm not level 85. i have killed exactly two people in pvp. (both 20+ levels below me) i've never been in an arena. i don't have any crafting skill(s).
