I've finished the Long, Strange Journey achievment on 4 toons, I have 4 left to go that only need this one last world event achievment - Children's Week. Started tonight right after it was up, and now I remember how much I hate Blizzard everytime I have to do some stupid forced BG activities for these. Anyone else still working on completing this, and dreading the BG part of this?

a purple proto drake and free 310% flight speed just doesn't seem worth that much effort

The free riding skill is nice, but the biggie is I put so much into the achievment already it seems a total waste of that time to not finish it when I'm so close. We'll see how many of them I do...

I was in the same boat for Easter. I had 3 toons that only needed Easter to be done with it. Took all the intestinal fortitude I could muster to get it done, then I logged off and drove toothpicks under my fingernails to distract myself from utter pain of collecting a some 700+ eggs. Damn RNG on those dumb dresses...

I'm a lurker and I know it.
Post count just means you spend too much time reading and not enough playing.

After this, if I even finish these, I am done with this game. At least for a long while, if not permanently. After taking a couple of months off for Rift, I am just saddened to see the state it is in when I do log in to play. Buggy as hell, they can't seem to do anything except think of ever more ways to F@#$ up the skills/talents every week. I can't even begin to keep up anymore, with all the changes they feel the need to make on a constant basis. Everything they touch turns to crap. I got magically "teleported" to other parts of the city or zone 3 times today (just standing there, then all of a sudden in a loading screen, and I show up somewhere else).

Add to that the complete frustration of trying to assault a tower in AV, which I remember very well from last year on my other 4 toons. I end up hating my fellow man, loathing Blizzard more with every minute I spend trying to complete these forced BG activities for their world events. The capture the flag and return a flag etc. are not as bad, but AV is just a riduculous one to put in as a required thing for a world event meta. But that's more of Blizzard, they think they have a PvP game (joke's still on them) and insist that everyone feel that way, or no cookie for you!

YEs, I realize I am venting... and nobody cares (especially Blizzard who of course doesn't read these anyway). Tell me to QQ I really don't care. Callme a nub, call me whatever you want. I'm sure I am not the only one who is frustrated beyond words with the stat this game is in, and this "holiday" crap is just the nail in the coffin. This game is dead, and there may be 12 million people living in denail still playing it.. but it is dead, Blizzard knows and has moved anyone worth paying more than minimum wage, off to other things.

I'm finding a lot of things refreshing about Rift, but the biggest one is the attitude of Trion... a company that cares and tries to connect with their customers and listens to them, doesn't just piss them off and laugh that they got mad. Blizzard used to be one of the top names in games, but for me, they jumped the shark 4 years ago. Rift may be a clone, but it does all the right things well, and most of the @$@$ that Blizzrd does wrong, Trion does right too.

Ya, you definitely wouldn't catch me doing that. Ugh. I did all the holiday achievements on my main and I'll never do them again.

Peoples quitting rituals are amusing, while you want to finish achievements before you quit even though you don't seem to enjoy them any longer, I for some dumb reason wanted to accumulate 40,000 gold, not a large sum but more then I had ever before. Of course your achievements and my gold are of not use after you hit the unsubscribe button.

After spending hundreds of hours playing a toon, it is natural that people have certain things they want to "complete" and bring closure to their play activity before finally unsubscribing.

Playing an MMO is all about the "story of your character" so it seems natural you want to leave its story "finished", or at least at a place where there can be a sequel, but there doesn't necessarily have to
