I am not a fan of anything in game that has to be 'purchased' with real money. I think it's unsportsmanlike to buy anything for real money in a game. That being said, if people like them, more power to them. I do judge these people though. 
And to me it isn't about the money. It's about everyone playing on an even playing field. What we display should be what we earned in game. So I guess that's why I am not totally bothered by it. When I see that people have purchased items... I write them off.

I think that name changes and server xfers are part of the reason the community is so bad. Ninja whatever you want and name change/server xfer etc. and you have just wiped away any trace of your wrongdoing.
But I don't write those people off one way or another because I don't know who they are

I'm confused. What does a pretty mount or non combat pet have to do with a level playing field? It doesn't give even the slightest advantage to anything in game nor are you at a disadvantage for not having one. It's purely for looks.

Does it benefit you in some way in game? If not, then it has zero impact on "a level playing field". If you don't agree with the micro transaction system, that's your opinion and I have no problem with that. But it has nothing to do with a level or non level playing field.
